Restoring Russia/Ukraine Production Vital To Global Food Security - UN

UN Sec Gen Antonio Guterres has admitted there is โ€œno true solutionโ€ to global food security without restoring production of Russia and Ukraineโ€™s agricultural, as well as Russiaโ€™s fertilizer trade, into world markets.

He highlighted the struggles of sub-Saharan African nations struggling to make ends meet as sanctions force rocketing prices and depleted supplies by cutting Russian exports.

"We need to ensure a steady flow in food and energies through open markets by lifting all unnecessary export restrictions, directing surpluses and reserves to those in need," Guterres said.

Nespresso employees find unsuspected illicit bounty

More than 500 kg of cocaine was discovered in a shipment of coffee beans at a Nespresso factory in Fribourg, Switzerland, local police revealed on Thursday.

A group of workers at the factory, located in the town of Romont, discovered the white powder packaged in with bags of coffee beans freshly delivered from Brazil on Monday. Nearly two dozen customs officers were called in with local authorities to analyze the find, which reportedly is 80% pure and has a street value of over $50 million (CHF 50 million).

Police claim the drug did not come into contact with the actual coffee, insisting the unusual cargo was โ€œisolated.โ€ The investigation remains ongoing.

Man behind Hunter Bidenโ€™s laptop sues CNN, congressman on claims data trove was "Russian disinformation"

The Delaware computer technician who exposed data from a laptop left at his shop by Hunter Biden, has sued US Rep. Adam Schiff and three media outlets for defaming him.

Mac Isaac said he faced false accusations of being a Russian spy, and he was forced to close his repair shop after receiving numerous death threats and hate mail.

He claimed CNN, Politico and other media knowingly broadcast a defamatory story falsely linking the laptop to Russia, a false claim echoed by Joe Biden in his presidential campaign. Now the plaintiff is seeking at least $1 million in actual damages and far more in punitive damages.
