Cops Clash With Palestinians In Al-Aqsa Mosque Violence (TRT World video)
More violence flared up outside Jerusalemโs Al-Aqsa Mosque on Israeli Independece Day on Thursday as police began clearing out Palestinian protesters to allow Jewish worshippers to resume visits to the holy site.
A senior Palestinian liason with Israel warned that campaigns for the Israeli flag to be raised at the site would show an โoutrageous disregardโ for Palestinians, while Hamas warned Israel was โplaying with fire and dragging the region into an escalationโ.
Eye-witness reports contradicted police claims that aggression was started by rock-throwing Palestinians, but Israel has maintained it is in fact Hamas inciting the recent spate of violence.
