Final hours of fighting near Mariupol's Azovstal steel plant *ARCHIVE*

The final hours of fighting at the Azovstal steel plant industrial area were filmed shortly before the Russian forces stopped the storming.

Update: the earlier version of the script mistakenly stated that the footage was filmed last Saturday. The video dates back to an earlier time when fighting was still ongoing in the area of the plant.

On April 21, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that all of Mariupol was 'liberated' and that 'remaining nationalists are hiding in the industrial area'.

Later that day, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to call off the assault and sealed off the Azovstal industrial zone 'so a fly can't get through.'

US govt defends ‘Ministry of Truth’

DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas has been forced to make several appearances on national TV in an attempt to clarify how the new ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ will operate.

Many critics, including top Republicans, have blasted the initiative as a crackdown on free speech, akin to a ‘Ministry of Truth’ taken from the pages of George Orwell’s dystopian novel ‘1984’.

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, Mayorkas dismissed the criticism by claiming that thought policing is “precisely the opposite of what this small working group within the Department of Homeland Security will do.”

The DHS chief also repeatedly reassured Americans that the unit has absolutely no intention, “operational authority” or “capability” to spy on US citizens.

Hungarian PM Added to Ukraine’s ‘Enemies List’

Viktor Orban has been labeled an “accomplice of Russian war criminals” and added to a notorious online database which pro-Kiev activists use to blacklist people they consider enemies of the state.

The Mirotvorets (‘Peacemaker’) website was created in 2014 as a public database of “pro-Russian terrorists, separatists, mercenaries, war criminals, and murderers.” It contains links to social media accounts and personal information, such as home addresses, phones, and emails.

Orban is listed as “an accomplice of Russian war criminals,” and an “anti-Ukrainian propagandist.” The website mentioned that the Hungarian PM refused to back an embargo on Russian oil and gas, among other things. Israel wants apology from Russia over Hitler remark

Israel has summoned the Russian ambassador, after FM Sergey Lavrov suggested that Adolf Hitler may have had some Jewish blood, and that the “most ardent” anti-Semites are Jews themselves.

“Lavrov’s remarks are both an unforgivable and outrageous statement as well as a terrible historical error,” Israeli FM Yair Lapid tweeted Monday, adding, “The lowest level of racism against Jews is to accuse Jews themselves of antisemitism.”

Speaking to Italy’s Mediaset media company Sunday, Lavrov confirmed that one of the objectives of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine is the “denazification” of the country. A reporter mentioned that Ukrainian President Zelensky is Jewish.

Russian governor explains blasts near Ukraine

The two alleged “massive explosions” overnight were not the result of shelling from Ukraine, the head of Belgorod Region has assured residents.

“I would like to dispel the region’s residents’ fears that someone or something had flown to us from the territory of Ukraine. This is not true,” Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram Monday.

He further explained that the explosions were related to “combat missions” carried out by the Russian military “as part of the special military operation.”
