Mourners forced to rent coffins – media

Surging inflation in the UK appears to be behind the growth of casket-renting services

Cash-strapped Brits are renting temporary coffins for funeral services before having their loved ones buried in cardboard, the Sun reported on Monday. Funeral directors say the cost-saving measure is becoming more popular as Brits struggle with a skyrocketing cost of living.

A temporary coffin is obtained for the day of the funeral and is returned afterward. The deceased is placed into a cheap and lightweight ‘inner’ coffin, which sits inside the rented casket. This outer coffin is then removed after the service, leaving the bod...

Most US heavy guns delivered to Ukraine – Pentagon
RT World News (RSS)

The US has delivered 80% of the promised howitzers and 5,000 Javelins to Kiev so far, Washington said

Some 80% of the M777 howitzers and half of the 155mm ammunition for them – promised to Ukraine by US President Joe Biden last month – have already been delivered, the Department of Defense said on Monday.

The US military also said it has delivered nearly all the counter-battery and anti-aircraft radars and 5,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles, but no helicopters just yet.

The figures came from a background briefing at the Pentagon on Monday, where an unnamed US defense official gave reporters the off...

NBC News admits to plagiarism

The network has flagged 11 articles that contained plagiarized information

NBC News apologized to its readers on Monday for eleven articles over the past year that contained plagiarized passages. The network did not retract the stories, however, but removed the problematic paragraphs and added editors’ notes to them. The Comcast-owned network also didn't name the reporter at fault. Other outlets were not so circumspect, however.

The eleven articles “contained passages from other news organizations that were used without attribution,” NBC said in a...

An officer who shot to death two people in Paris on election night has been charged with murder

Hundreds of members of French police unions turned out for protests on Monday after one of their number was arrested over the shooting to death of two people in a car on the Pont-Neuf bridge in Paris on the election night of April 24. The three police unions, Alliance, Synergie, and Unsa-Police, declared the decision to arrest their colleague “inadmissible” and pledged to take to the streets to air their grievances across 40 cities, focusing their efforts on courts and police stations....

The Non-Independence of Western-Funded “Independent Media” in Ukraine with Alan MacLeod
MintPress News (RSS)

In this edition of The Watchdog Podcast, Lowkey talks to Alan MacLeod about Ukraine, how the media is covering the conflict, and the promotion of supposedly “independent” Ukrainian media outlets that are quietly being funded by Western governments.

Chief among these is The Kyiv Independent, a newspaper that was barely three months old at the time of the Russian invasion but has shot to prominence in the West, being relentlessly promoted on television and radio and in print. As a result, it has managed to garner over two million followers on Twitter and raise millions of dollars in crowdfunding.

However, far less known...

Turkey reveals its position on NATO defense

NATO has “no intention” of intervening in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, according to Turkish FM Mevlut Cavusoglu – but he vowed Sunday that his country would respond to any attack on a NATO ally.

Russian FM Sergey Lavrov has accused NATO of “essentially going to war with Russia,” while Vladimir Putin warned outside players against intervening in the conflict last week, threatening to unleash a “swift, lightning-fast” response should Russia’s security be put at risk.

Turkey has sought to maintain relations with both the bloc and Moscow since Russia’s operation in Ukraine began in February. It has sold its domestically-produced Bayraktar drones to Ukraine but has refused to impose sanctions on Russia.

Ukraine Admits 'Ghost of Kiev' a Bogus "MYTH"

The legend of the ghost pilot that shot down multiple Russian fighter jets - prepare for the shock and horror - was completely false.

“The Ghost of Kiev is a superhero-legend, whose character was created by Ukrainians!” Ukraine’s Air Force Command wrote on Facebook.

Despite being called out as fake already (linked to foreign orchestrated PR campaigns), a number of outlets gave the title to a man who died on March 13, and was posthumously awarded hero status in Ukraine. The FB statement added he was not the "Ghost."

It's believed no pilot in the 21st century has ever shot down five or more enemy jets - while the ghost pilot claims had the number at six Russian planes.

In February, the official Ukraine national handle tweeted: "People call him the Ghost of Kyiv. And rightly so—this UAF ace dominates the ski...

On Gab, I saw this testimony of a pro-Nazi Latvian

communist Jews during WW2.

Most Jews are not satanists but those who are
