Finland Could Apply for NATO Membership Within DAYS (Report)
Finland will decide if the country will apply for NATO membership on May 12, Finnish newspaper Iltalehti has reported late on Sunday.
The decision will likely come in two steps, with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto first announcing his approval to join the military alliance, followed by parliamentary groups giving their approval.
Finland had for decades held dear its belief that peace was best kept by not choosing sides, as the Nordic nation looks set to ditch that policy alongside neighbors Sweden.
