Russia Strike-Ready Around the Clock: Moscow hits back at UK's 'provocation' - giving greenlight for Kiev to fire across border

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has stated that the UK is directly provoking Kiev to strike against targets inside Russian territory - but warned it will lead to an immediate and proportional response on the capital.

Western advisers "will not necessarily be a problem" for the response of the Russian Armed Forces, the ministry added.

The comments came in response to the UK Under-Secretary of State for Armed Forces claiming Ukraine has a legitimate right to strike military targets on Russian territory to disrupt logistics of Russia's army.

Kim Jong Un Vows Nuke Boost

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has vowed to bolster his nuclear weapon program at a military parade in Pyongyang Monday, state media reports.

Kim reportedly called North Korea’s nuclear arsenal a “symbol of national pride” and mainly a deterrent, but “if any force attempts to usurp the fundamental interests of our country, our nuclear force will have no choice but to carry out its second mission unexpectedly."

The Hwasong-17 missile was reportedly on display at the parade according to photos published by newspaper Rodong Sinmun.

US Defense Chief Explains Goal to ‘Weaken Russia’

Lloyd Austin has expanded on Washington’s stated goal to ‘weaken Russia’ during its military action in Ukraine.

According to Austin, Moscow’s capabilities are less than they were prior to the start of the conflict due to casualties and equipment destroyed. The economic sanctions are then supposed to prevent Russia from reinforcing.

The official also added that he still expects Ukraine to at some point apply for NATO membership, an issue the Kremlin cited as a key reason for its ongoing military involvement.

Poland confirms Russian gas supply to be halted

With Warsaw refusing to pay in rubles, Russia will suspend deliveries starting Wednesday, the Polish state company confirmed

Poland’s state-owned energy company PGNiG confirmed on Tuesday that Russian energy firm Gazprom will halt deliveries on the Yamal contract as of Wednesday. Earlier reports suggested that the supply from Russia had already been cut off.

According to a statement from the Polish gas firm, “Gazprom informed PGNiG of its intention to completely suspend deliveries under the Yamal contract at the beginning of the contract day on April 27.”

Russian energy giant Gazprom will cease delivering gas to Bulgaria on Wednesday, the country’s energy ministry announced on Tuesday. The news comes after Gazprom confirmed it will also halt supplies to Poland, with both countries refusing to buy the gas in rubles.

The ministry announced the news in a statement, adding that there would be no imminent need for consumers to ration their gas usage. Bulgaria relies on Russia for around 90% of its gas, with the remainder coming from Azerbaijan.
