Queen of US Torture Program - Turns Beauty & Life Coach

Ex-CIA analyst Alfreda Scheuer traveled to a secret CIA prison to watch Abu Zubaydah be waterboard two decades ago. Now the 56-year-old is a beauty coach... and says waterboarding is not torture.

Scheurer was a key figure in America's so-called war on Islamist extremist groups, which included brutal interrogation centers around the globe.

She retired as deputy chief of Homeland Strategic Threats just months ago, and in her first-ever interview has claimed she wasn't pushed out.

“I got bloodied,” she told Reuters about the criticism she faced for her role in the agency, “and kept coming back to try again and again to do something. I'm proud that I wasn't on the sidelines. I didn't bury my head in the sand.”

The New Yorker once dubbed Scheuer, again citing her position but omitting her name, as t...

Japan Ramps up Russia Territorial Tensions with “Illegal Occupation” Claims

Tokyo has hardened its stance on the Southern Kurils, claiming for the first time in almost two decades that the disputed islands are “illegally occupied” and that they're an “inherent” part of Japanese territory.

The Asian nation's Foreign Policy report, known as the Bluebook, also slammed Russia’s operation in Ukraine for undermining “the foundation of international order, not only in Europe but also in Asia”.

Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov responded by saying Japan has become an unfriendly country for Russia, making it very difficult to discuss the continuation of peace talks on the Kuril Islands.

ELONGATE: GOP Reps Demand Twitter Preserve All Musk Takeover Bid Records

18 House Republican have moved to ensure Twitter safeguards all personal and company records relating to Elon Musk’s buyout bids, sparking the likelihood of a congressional investigation should the GOP win back a majority in the midterms.

The lawmakers’ letter to Twitter’s board justified their request as a push to “examine Big Tech and how to best protect Americans’ free speech rights”.

The GOP vs Twitter war dates back to October 2020, when the platform buried links to a New York Post story exposing Hunter Biden and his father's business links - which then-CEO Jack Dorsey admitted was “wrong”.

Yale Names & Shames Companies for Operating in Russia with School Grades?

Yale University has been been tracking over 1,000 companies, regarding their response to the military action in Ukraine. It has now released a list of firms, grading their initiative to cut ties with Russia from A to F.

The crude database praises those which have made a “clean break” or “surgical removal” and includes virtuous entities such as the BlackRock investment firm, BP and Activision Blizzard.

Companies that “are just continuing business-as-usual in Russia” were graded F, with the document offering a way to “get in touch” with them to change your grade.

No care if firms go bust! Good thing Yale didn't do big business grades in 2003 - Fs all round.
