Mexico has shut down one of its Sensitive Investigative Units, a valued entity to the US Drug Enforcement Administration, which for 25 years has participated in bilateral anti-drug trafficking cooperation. (Reuters)
The veteran officers of the unit in question were considered some of the regionโs best, and have participated in the biggest busts in recent history, including the 2016 capture of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the infamous boss of the Sinaloa cartel.

Don't Panic! TV Channel Apologizes for Reporting False Strikes by China on Taiwan
The Chinese Television System (CTS), Taiwanโs government-backed station, has issued an apology after mistakenly running ticker alerts about China striking targets near Taipei with missiles.
The warning appeared during a live news broadcast on Wednesday morning, with alerts reportedly informing of missile attacks, that a โwar could break out,โ as well as that Taiwanโs president had declared a state of emergency.
The anchor clarified during the 10am news bulletin that the alerts had in fact been meant for a drill involving the Fire Department in New Taipei City - but had been accidentally displayed due to a technical error.
