Sexual Harassment Whistleblower at Google Subsidiary Claims Company Trying to ‘Discredit’ Her

A former employee at Google-owned AI company DeepMind has accused the firm of trying to "discredit" her after she publicly made allegations of workplace sexual harassment and assault. (Insider)

The media have verified the anonymous woman’s identity. According to her, the company dragged out her complaints, only concerned with stopping the story from going public. It's reported that executives then focused on "salvaging their own reputation".

In her original post, the woman claimed to have experienced "multiple propositions, grotesque emails and texts including explicit confessions of acts of sexual violence against women, and threats of self-harm."

The UN refugee agency has urged the UK govt to step in and regulate the housing scheme for Ukrainian refugees amidst concerns predatory men are using the system to sexually exploit 'lone' women.

One journalist for The Times reportedly posed as a 22-year-old Ukrainian woman in a Facebook group for hosts, and was flooded with inappropriate messages offering to share a bed, and one even saying: “I am ready to help you and maybe you can help me also.”

The UK’s Homes for Ukraine scheme - which requires refugees to have a sponsor before applying for a visa - leaves hosts to connect with Ukrainian refugees themselves, with a charity matching scheme that has only been running one week.
