Japan AUKUS recruitment FAKE NEWS - Tokyo denies membership offer reports

Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun has reported that Tokyo has been informally offered a place within the new AUKUS military bloc citing unnamed govt officials, but Chief Cabinet Sec Hirokazu Matsuno has denied the claims.

Japan is reportedly developing two types of hypersonic weapons and a railgun hypersonic missile defense system, which the paper claims is the main motivation for Canberra, Washington and London to bring Tokyo to the table.

Japanese law restricts it to using nuclear energy for peaceful means though, which would rule it out from developing nuclear submarines were it to join โ€œJAUKUSโ€.

The AI software, developed by state government firm Sarawak Information Systems, was first introduced in 2020 to two courts in Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo as part of a pilot scheme to examine the efficiency of arti...

โ€˜Diplomatic immunityโ€™ wonโ€™t be used to shield British Army from Kenyaโ€™s justice system

The British Army has lost its right to diplomatic immunity in Kenya after a high-court judge said on Wednesday that a 2015 defense agreement allows a lawsuit against UK soldiers for having allegedly caused a wildfire and the death of a local man.

The historic ruling concerns the case of a massive wildfire allegedly caused by UK soldiers stationed at Nanyuki army base in the East African country, a former British colony that declared independence in 1963. The 10,000-acre inferno swept through the surrounding Lolldaiga Hills Ranch sanctu...
