US Treasury Department: Telecom firms EXEMPT from Russia sanctions

Businesses involving “services, software, hardware, or technology incident to the exchange of communications over the internet” will no longer be subject to sanctions over Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

The move follows pleas from NGOs and internet freedom groups which argued that cutting Russians off from communication with the West would do more harm than good.

The decision is bad news for Kiev though, which has urged the West for a digital iron curtain by revoking Russia’s access to the Domain Name System.

'90% of Chinese' Think US is “BULLY” in Ukraine Crisis - Poll

A huge number of Chinese people surveyed online believe the US has acted like a bully and hegemon throughout the Ukraine crisis, according to a poll on state-backed Huanqui’s Weibo account.

Over 12,000 were also asked about the US role in sanctioning China, and 92.2% believed they were attempting to bully Beijing, while 89% believed Washington is trying to establish an Indo-Pacific NATO equivalent.
