Pakistan Parliament Votes for new PM after Khan Stumped by No-Confidence Vote

Pakistan lawmakers are voting Monday for a replacement Prime Minister, after Imran Khan was ousted following nationwide and overseas rallies against so-dubbed “US-backed regime change."

Khan went out of his way to thank his supporters for protesting against Washington seeking to have influence over Pakistan.

Khan became the country’s first-ever leader to suffer such a fate, while his PTI party have claimed all their MPs will quit en masse if their candidate, former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, isn’t elected.

However, opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif, who instigated the no-confidence vote could be the most likely replacement.

Ukrainian FM Dmitry Kuleba expects fighting to be refocused on the Donbass region, with the matter set to be discussed by FMs in Luxembourg on Monday.

Kiev has received 5 armored vehicles and 5 tanks from Czech Republic, an air defense system from Slovakia, $436MN from Poland and assets worth a third of Estonia’s defense budget.

Sergey Lavrov has said that the military must finish Washington’s ‘dominance’ on the world stage.

The Foreign Minister also responded to recent calls by EU policy chief Josep Borrell for a ‘military’ resolution to the conflict. According to Lavrov, Borrell’s position is “game-changing,” and further proves the bloc’s intent to use Ukraine as a “launch pad” for anti-Russian activities.

Lavrov reiterated that Moscow will not succumb to outside pressure, and will carry on with its stated goals.
