Iran seizes ‘foreign ship’ in Persian Gulf

Naval forces of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have intercepted a foreign ship carrying smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf. The arrest of the unnamed vessel was announced by the chief justice of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, Mojtaba Ghahremani, on Saturday.

“Naval forces have seized a foreign vessel carrying smuggled fuel in Persian Gulf waters,” Ghahremani said, according to local media.

EU leader asked for evidence Bucha massacre wasn’t staged – Zelensky

Speaking to German newspaper Bild on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described how a leading EU politician called into question Kiev’s version of events surrounding the Bucha massacre.

The remark came after the Bild journalist asked what the worst thing he had heard in recent days was. When the interviewer probed further, asking whether it was the head of state of an EU nation, Zelensky replied in the affirmative, though he refused to name the official.

NBC journalists are concerned former White House press secretary Jen Psaki's hire at their sister station MSNBC would “tarnish” the brand's credibility, people familiar with the matter told CNN on Friday.

There was apparently enough concern over the issue to warrant an “impromptu phone call” from NBC News president Noah Oppenheim, the sources claimed, revealing the executive had attempted to soothe angry and anxious employees by drawing a distinction between NBC and MSNBC's opinion journalism and reminding them that NBC had nothing to do with the decision to hire Psaki.

Former Goldman Sachs banker who financed ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ found guilty

Former Goldman Sachs head of investment banking for Malaysia Roger Ng has been convicted of bribery and corruption related to the theft of $4.5 billion from the state investment fund 1MDB.

The banker was found guilty on Friday following a two-month trial in a Brooklyn federal court.

Despite the participation of several others in the scheme, including its alleged mastermind, Malaysian financier Jho Low, Ng was the only Goldman Sachs banker to end up on trial, pleading not guilty to conspiracy to launder money and two counts of conspiring to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
