Australiaโ€™s four million children aged five to 11 years may be able to receive the Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19 before the end of 2021 if Australia follows the lead of the United States.

On 29 October, the Federal Drug Administration approved Pfizerโ€™s mRNA vaccine for emergency use in American children aged five to 11 years. 

If it is recommended by the US Centres for Disease Control, which meets this week, the vaccine will be available immediately for 28 million eligible children aged five to 11 years in the US.
