Five men aged from 38 to 47 years were arrested.
Gardaรญ have arrested five men following a multi-agency operation led by the Garda National Immigration Bureau concerning suspected social welfare fraud in Co Offaly.
22 separate business premises were targeted with unannounced inspections in the Tullamore area as part of the search operation on Thursday.
The searches were carried out as part of an investigation into suspected abuses of the Department of Social Welfare and social welfare fraud, identified following cooperation between officers from the GNIB, the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) and the Department of Social Protection.
The five arrests relate to offences contrary to Section 12 of the Immigration Act, 2004 and Section 2(1) of The Employment Permits Act 2003.

@normafoleyTD1 is the Twitter handle of our Minister for Education. I invite any parent who would like to see the mask mandate in school removed to send a tweet to her asking her to confirm that she is removing mask mandates on (or before) October 22nd. If it is something you want for your child then perhaps you could connect with parents you know in other secondary schools and invite them to do the same. I donโt relish the thought of our children being masked indefinitely but our concern is invisible to the Minister unless and until we alert her by expressing our wishes eg on her Twitter.

I am sad to say that I am personally disgusted by many in my profession. Particularly those who are not ashamed to declare how they discriminate against patients who are afraid or unable to take the vaccine.
