THE chief clinical director of University Hospital Limerick has โindirectlyโ asked that only the vaccinated enter the hospital as it deals with Covid-19 outbreaks.
Professor Brian Lenehan was speaking on Morning Ireland on RTร Radio One. He said he knew he couldnโt โmandateโ that only the vaccinated visit the hospital or those with Covid-19 digital certs.
But he added: โWe are asking they (patientsโ families) help us at this time, where possible.โ Prof Lenehan said families should arrange that โsomeone whoโs vaccinated visit their loved onesโ.

Staff shortages while they sack nurses and healthcare workers for refusing the vaccine coming into winter carnage.
NURSES WORKING IN the intensive care unit (ICU) at St Vincentโs University Hospital (SVUH) in Dublin have said they are at โbreaking pointโ due to chronic staff shortages in recent months.
The experienced nurses, who have all worked in intensive care units for a number of years, say staff shortages are worse than ever and they have been forced to use a baby monitor to watch patients in two particular beds as there are not enough staff members to cover every ICU bed.
They say attempts by them and their line managers to highlight concerns about staff shortages with senior management at the hospital have not been satisfactorily resolved so they have gone public as โa last resortโ.

Sweden will pause the use of Modernaโs Covid-19 vaccine for people born in 1991 and later after reports of possible rare side effects, such as myocarditis, the Swedish health agency said on Wednesday.
The health agency said data pointed to an increase of myocarditis and pericarditis among youths and young adults that had been vaccinated. Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle; pericarditis is swelling and irritation of the thin, saclike tissue surrounding the heart.
They are not rare.
