China's onshore crude oil stockpiles surged to a two-year high in May as demand failed to rise after the economy reopened, Kpler figures show. As a result, China could withdraw 20 million barrels from its stockpiles between June and August during a seasonal dip before purchases strengthen again in September, according to Energy Aspects. China's inventory capacity increased to 1.63 billion barrels in June from 1.55 billion a year earlier thanks to new refining capacity and storage facilities.

The agency observed an increase in sextortion reports as of April this year, with fake media created via "content posted on their social media sites or web postings, provided to the malicious actor upon request, or captured during video chats".
