After Israeli aerial & artillery bombardment of an area about 1.5 kilometers from the border, a force of Israeli undercover units (“Mistaravim”)—soldiers disguised as Arabs in civilian clothing, speaking Arabic, & appearing Arab—entered a building in Shuja’iyya to carry out an ambush.

However, the undercover force fell into a trap set by the Palestinian resistance, who opened fire on them, killing 1 soldier & wounding several others.
The fighters engaged in a two-hour battle, including 5 direct clashes.
