🥱 The Power-Distance Index (PDI), developed by psychologist Geert Hofstede, evaluates how power and wealth are accepted and distributed within nations, businesses, or cultures. A high PDI score reflects strict hierarchies, while a low score indicates more interaction and influence among authority figures and subordinates.
Interactive AI companions and improved algorithmic feeds are about to dominate motivational bandwidth, pushing long texts aside all over the world.

saving information for later sucks

I guess I shouldn’t rely on save-for-later / read-it-later tools because they’re mostly just a form of self-deception. The data suggests that people rarely revisit these things. That’s why you are supposed to either abandon ideas at the moment of creation or execute them immediately.

Any postponed exploration requires reconstructing context, which is cognitively expensive. Immediate capture takes only a few minutes at most.

Don’t make your online environment messy because of irrational FOMO.

Ruthlessly delete unimportant things you are “saving for later”

will this book or essay make you happier? how much time are you ready to allocate right now or tommorow?
Let’s face it 🐣

50,000 NVIDIA chips (with 41,000 state-of-the-art GB300s) would make Armenia’s compute cluster larger than anything in the EU, Japan, South Korea, India, or anywhere else outside the US/China/Gulf triad — by a wide margin. This is historic for Armenia. Incredible.

context:

it’s still a very small fraction of the global compute with vast majority of it (~90%) concentrated in the US and China.

only 10% of allocated compute is reserved for local companies — 90% goes straight to the American enterprises.

4B investment doesn’t exactly mean 4B investment to Armenian economy as it primarily goes to NVIDIA and other American tech suppliers.

Real question: can the government and diaspora convert hosting foreign compute into full fledged ecosystem in the long run

Ego blocks. Humility unlocks.

The potential long term value an individual can extract from artificial intelligence is capped by pre-existing cognitive habits. Democratised access to AI is, in practice, a metacognitive inequality amplifier. At the same time, the specific dispositions that AI tends to reward are learnable if a user shows willingness to learn and confront his own ignorance.
📖 The Creative Act: A Way of Being:

“Reading, in addition to listening, eating, and most physical activities, can be experienced like driving: we can participate either on autopilot or with focused intention. So often we sleepwalk through our lives. Consider how different your experience of the world might be if you engaged in every activity with the attention you might give to landing a plane.”

…the gap between public perception and current reality is now enormous, and it’s dangerous… because it’s preventing people from preparing.

Robert Kiyosaki sold tens of millions of copies of “Rich dad poor dad” despite having no verifiable investment success, just a verifiable corporate bankruptcy

Paul Graham has a short Wikipedia page, but he’s worth billions and has had huge global impact through Y Combinator. They have funded over 5000 idea-stage startups —> ultimately creating over 100 billion dollars companies including Coinbase, Stripe and Airbnb

Anyone can read hundreds of Paul’s essays for free. However, one must pay to read Kiyosaki’s books. Guess what sells.
