Being understood is far more meaningful than being loved. Someone can love you and still not understand you at all. Love is something that often comes naturally with time, while truly trying to understand someone is a conscious choice. It requires setting aside yourself to focus on the other person, which is far more valuable. Knowing someone's ins and outs, truly seeing them for who they are, and still choosing to stand by their side-now that's meaningful.
