It all went too fast...
From childhood days to teenage skies,
From school van rides with laughter and ties,
To college trains where thoughts collide,
A thousand dreams and fears inside.
From keeping a book for every class,
To one messy notebook where all topics amass.
From studying daily at tuition with care,
To opening the book the night before, in despair.
From carrying tiffins with homemade food,
Eating under benches whenever we could,
To skipping meals in the rush of the day,
And grabbing whatever comes our way.
From crying over scoldings that vanished in days,
To crying over heartbreaks that never go away.
From believing life was simple, smooth and free,
To carrying regrets that just won’t let me be.
From never caring what tomorrow might bring,
To dreaming nonstop, yet unsure of everything.
Childhood was a dream that can never come back,
We all lived that dream, now on a different track,
Chasing materialistic dreams, we lost the joy we now lack.
