Preparation for the ceremony
You will need to fast for a minimum of 9 hours before Kambo. Have a healthy dinner the night before and you can have tea with honey or a natural sweetener in the morning if required.
Please abstain from alcohol and recreational drugs two days prior and 24 hours after Kambo.
What is Kambo?
Kambo comes from the secretion of a tree frog that resides in the amazon the Phyllomedusa Bicolor. Kambo is harvested by collecting the first layer of secretion from the frog and placing the secretion on to a stick which is then dried. The frogs are treated with the upmost care and respect and are considered sacred.
The tribes use this medicine to rid themselves of panema also known as negative energy or entity's. The medicine is also known as hunting magic due to the energy one feels after the medicine. The tribes also use the medicine for malaria, impotence, fertility and sickness.
Kambo works with the element of fire and brings transformational fire, connecting us to our higher purpose and our hearts. By purging toxins and stifled emotions from the body it makes room for our higher self to step forward.
How is kambo applied and what can I expect to experience?
The medicine contains peptides that are also found in the human body that activate the body's detoxification pathways. You will drink up to 1.5 liters of water prior to the medicine being applied. The water is necessary to ensure the toxins are purged from the body.
Small points are burnt on to the skin and the medicine is applied on to the wound. The burn is very small and will leave a very small scar. The medicine then enters the lymphatic system and will activate detoxification.
Whilst in the medicine you will experience intensity as the blood pressure rises and falls and toxins are being brought up to be purged. Purging starts very quickly and the medicine takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to work out of the body through purging, sweating and emotional release.
Once the toxins and the medicine is out of the body you will rest and then we will share a meal together. Chemotherapy or radiation therapy within the last four weeks
Present Anemia
Iboga within the last 21 days
