Det begynner med plast, men handler om hvordan vi forholder oss til naturen, til samfunnet og til hverandre.

Kenneth Bruvik har brukt år av livet sitt på å rydde – men enda mer tid på å få folk med seg. Som grunnlegger av Framtidshavet har han engasjert tusenvis av barn, fiskere, lokalsamfunn og frivillige i kampen mot marin forsøpling.

Men han er også tydelig på at opprydding ikke er nok.

–Hvis vi bare rydder, men ikke forandrer holdningene våre – så er vi tilbake igjen neste år, sier han.

I samarbeid med profilerte miljøforkjempere som Afroz Shah i India har Kenneth sett kraften i frivillighet og fellesskap. Samtidig utfordrer han tanken om at plastkrisen kan løses bare med dugnad:

– Det er når frivillighet møter systemer og vilje til endring, at vi får skikkelig fart. Vi må ikke bare engasjere folk – vi må gjøre det mulig for dem å ta ansvar, sier han.
