Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

"Be ambitious, keep climbing and always have hope. Beware of falling, and remember that life is minutes and seconds. Be like the ant in hard work, patience and perseverance. Always keep trying, and keep repenting. If you go back to sin, then repent again. Memorise Qur'ān, and if you forget it, go back and memorise it again and again. The main thing is that you should never feel defeated or frustrated, because rationally speaking there is no such thing as the last word or the bitter end, rather there is always trial and error, and learning from your mistakes. Life is like a body that may undergo cosmetic surgery; it is like a building that can be renovated and rebuilt from scratch, with new decor and paint. Do away with all thoughts of failure, and stop thinking of calamities and problems, for Allah, the Almighty, says:

وَعَلَى اللهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
"...And put your trust in Allah if you are indeed believers." [Surah Al-Ma'idah - Verse 23]

Advice of Abū Darda رضي الله عنه

‘Build yourself, by yourself, for yourself’

Tawakkul is the light of our hearts. Placing our trust and relying on Allah ﷻ can help us overcome any adversity.

Mālik Ibn Dīnār رحمه الله said:

"Sabr (Patience) is silence. And silence is from Sabr. And the one who speaks is not more pious than the silent, except the knowledgeable man who speaks in his position."

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله stated:

"Know that everyone who loves something for other than Allāh it's a must that his beloved one harms him and that will be a cause for his punishment."

قال ابن مسعود - رضي الله عنه -:

Ibn Mas’ūd رضي الله عنه said:

" من كان يحب أن يعلم أنه يحب الله فليعرض نفسه على القرأن، فإن أحب القرآن فهو يحب الله فإنما القرآن كلام الله ".

“Whoever wants to know that he loves Allāh, then let him present himself to the Qur’ān. If he loves the Qur’ān then he loves Allāh, for truly the Qur’ān is the Speech of Allāh.”
