Imam Abul Layth as-Samarqandi narrates a deep and hardhitting quoting regarding sincerity in his book: تنبيه الغافلين
May Allah forgive us and grant us guidance. آمين يا رب العالمين

See the dunya as it really is. Do not be taken by it’s deceptive attractiveness and it’s illusory beauty. Understand the reality and the nature of its existence.
The life of this world is bound to end, no matter how long it lasts. It is only a few breathes in a few places, limited to a certain time span.

“I complained to Wakī’ about the weakness of my memory, and he advised me to leave my sins. He said knowledge is a light, and the light of Allah is not bestowed to the (unrepentant) sinner.”
― Imam al-Shāfi’ī (RA)

Your heart will be in its most peaceful state when you place it in the care of Allāh ﷻ. Don't wait for a certain outcome to occur before you can be at peace. In any place, under any circumstance, in every day - you can be at peace, when you leave the heart with Him.
Leave your heart with Him, and you will never be disappointed. It is a fragile thing, the heart. It can only be fully at peace when it gets to know it's Lord and remains in His care

It's a special feeling when things seem to be falling apart or you're in an unknown phase in your life but your heart is stable because you remember the duas you made to your Lord. He always brings out of the hardship, a beautiful end.
Having good thoughts of your Lord is such an important concept because it is literally the ground that you stand upon. Without it, you have no stable foundation.

Yahyā bin Mu'ādh رحمه الله stated:
"Indeed the intelligent person who has attained (success) is the one who has done three things:
1. He leaves the Dunyā before it leaves him.
2. He establishes his grave before he enters it.
3. He pleases his Lord before he meets Him."

One of the Salaf said:
"Whoever's soul has gained control over him he becomes a captive in the prison of lust and he is restricted under the rule of the desires. As a result, Allāh prevents benefits from (reaching) his heart."

Umar Ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه said:
"Get used to a tough life, for luxury does not last forever."

The fastest way to get hurt is to expect appreciation and reward for every thing you do for others. People won’t always appreciate you, once you understand that and start doing things for yourself and for Allah, your heart will feel content.
The married contemplates divorce, the unmarried yearns marriage, the young wants to grow up quickly, the old wants youth to return, the poor wants to become rich, the rich wants peace, the unknown craves fame, the popular wants privacy... “Indeed, man is very ungrateful” (22:66).
