Everyone has this whole life mapped out in front of them. Plans and aspirations of what they wanted to achieve by their 20s, 30s. The degree, a good job, happy marriage, kids all before 30. And once reaching that age, not getting any of those and thinking we’ve failed at life as though our plans are the criteria of being someone successful.
I’ve felt this and honestly I still feel it, it’s draining. Trying to get ahead and catch up on life, like it’s some race. But there’s no finishing line in the marathon of this world when it comes to the gains of worldly things because no one will ever be successful if they only aspire to live comfortable in thisr world. If Allāh ﷻ himself has said that he only created us to worship him, ultimately his worship is what will give us contentment because his worship is our purpose of life.
And to be honest, no matter how many times we remind ourselves this, we will continually live the way we are and run after this delusional world. We will continue to let our desires control us and give us temporary happiness. Then left hurt again and again we will search for another avenue of temporary comfort until we become so tired and drained.
Creating زهد abstinence from this world, holding the dunya in the palm of our hands and not in our hearts will keep ones heart in the most happiest and safest of places because if the world disappoints you, it will not matter to you because this world, will not matter to you.
Contentment only lies in the closeness of ones creator just as a baby finds comfort in the warmth of its mother’s arms. And if it takes pain after pain to keep reminding me this, I’m willing to go through that. May Allah give us all patience آمين

Your wealth is not yours.
Once you die, it is inherited.
It now belongs to someone else.
Your wealth no longer has your name on it.
But you know which wealth is yours forever?
Your Sadaqah, your actions & your children.
So invest in it with all your time, health & money.

Poetry by Imām Shāfi'ī رحمه الله
Translation:
"Travel, you will find a replacement for those you are leaving behind. Work hard, for indeed the pleasure of life is in working hard. Certainly I have seen that stagnant water becomes corrupt, if it flows it is fresh and if it doesn't flow it is not fresh."
Imām Shāfi'ī رحمه الله gives an example of water, that if it is doesn't flow and move it will become stale and the taste will no longer be pleasant. In the same manner those who do not travel and work hard will not be able to gain beneficial knowledge and they will be come corrupt internally just as water becomes corrupt if it is stagnant.

The only correct way to measure success in life is with the quality and quantity of your righteous acts. Your wealth, knowledge, and influence are worthless if they don’t increase your ability to do good deeds. Stop falling for the illusion of potential good that you’ll do later.
Just FOCUS for 6 months to a year and you can change your whole life. Outside ain’t going noo where, I promise.
الصبر على طاعة الله اهون من الصبر على عذابه
The patience in obeying the commands of Allāh ﷻ is easier than the patience in enduring His punishment.

Beyond being a good student and learning your lessons well, if you provide even a small service from time to time, like make a cup of tea or open the door for the teacher, it shows your human side too. That way you are not just seen as an academic, but one with some humanity.

No matter how tough your life is right now, do not stress yourself out, do not give up, hold on, keep striving, and place your complete trust in Allah, He is the best of planners. Always remember, be positive, stay strong, and never lose hope in the mercy of Allah The Almighty.

Not everyone will treat you how you treat them. Not everyone you present a gift to, returns your favour. You may give gifts to someone only to find out in return they're backbiting about you in various gatherings. Not everyone you are kind to, will be kind back to you.
Allāh has divided manners for people just as Allāh has divided up their sustenance. Do things for the sake of Allāh. Not for the sake of people. Your reward is with Allāh. Not with the people.
Some people have no solution to their problems nor is there any way to reform them. You can only deal with them in accordance with their own wishes. In that case, either have patience with them, or leave them.
Our role model, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ dealt with people rationally and not emotionally. Nabī ﷺ would bear other people's mistakes and deal with them. Don't let your emotions get the better of you when dealing with other people.
Think before you speak. A moment of patience in a moment of anger will save many moments of regret.

The poorest of the poor is the one who loses his life in knowledge that he does not act upon
ففاته لذات الدنيا وخيرات الآخره
So the delight of this world and goodness of the hereafter pass him
