I don't think many people understand truly the power of Dua. Allah can literally change your heart, your situation and your entire perception in the blink of an eye.
Focus on the verses in the Qur'an that speak about his ability and power. Internalise them and believe them.
Many of us have an illness and deficiency in our conviction. We're lost. We doubt ourselves and doubt what dua can do for our lives. Stop holding on while claiming you've let go. Truly let go, and have true tawakul in your affairs.

Tawakkul is actually the most comforting thing. Like I really don't care or mind where Allāh ﷻ takes me after I've placed my reliance upon Him. I'm happy with it and I do not second guess His response. That is Tawakkul. It frees you from the mental shackles of 'what if'
It is not necessary that you get from Him every thing that you ask, but it is necessary and crucial that you do not waver in your reliance and trust in Him
Sometimes the delay is to test your reliance and your gratitude for what you already have. We are here in this world to be tested after all. When you become content with wherever He takes you, then you have actualised your role as a servant of Allāh ﷻ.

There are some things in life that you literally don't have a choice in. It is tied to your qadr. Part of living fully is to kneel down to what Allāh ﷻ chooses for you, and to accept it with open arms. Regardless of whether it carries beautiful gifts or difficult tests.

Learn as much as you can, grow, educate yourselves, constantly better yourself and every aspect of your life, get out of your comfort zone, aspire and aim for great things. Be content but never stop learning, growing and moving forward.

📚How Can I Bring Myself to Read More?
1. Address the issue of why you don't read as often as you want to. Are the books that you have not engaging? Are they in a language/topic that you do not understand well? Is it too long? Do you feel that you do not have time? After discovering the issue, find a solution for it.
2. Look at various genres to see what interests you the most, and start with that. If you are not enjoying a particular book, put it on a pause and read something else in the meantime.
❗️Don't allow your mind to associate reading with burdensome, boredom & difficulty.
3. Set a goal of how many/what books you want to read, and break down your goals into short enjoyable sections. Set a time daily to complete that section.
4. Start with shorter books. After you have successfully finished reading it, you'll be motivated to continue reading.
❗️Success → motivation → success → motivation. It's a great cycle.
5. Remind yourself of your goals. Sometimes, just reading 'for leisure' or 'because it's trendy' is harder to do than if you want to read to gain knowledge, seek advice, rectify yourself, or even to write a book review.
6. Surround yourself with like-minded people who are avid readers and discuss different titles together for motivation.
7. Surround yourself with books. Have a book in the car, on your desk, near your bed, on the sofa, so that you are constantly reminded/invited to read.
8. Invest in books so that you have a wider selection of books to choose from. Visit the library often if possible.

Constantly strive to prepare yourself for the meeting with Allāh regardless of whoever or whatever is apart of your life or not. Don't put your righteousness on hold waiting for marriage or the attainment of a worldly matter, for none of that is promised. However, death is!
