Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

This is a reminder page for myself to look back on. If you benefit from it, Alḥamdulillāh. If not, please remember me in your du'ā's.

A person should not attribute any good themselves, nor be deluded into thinking that it is a result of your own doing —

For everything you and I have is from Allah and at any given time, it could be snatched and seized!

Shaykh Sa'īd Al Kamali حفظه الله
Fadālah ibn ‘Ubayd رضي الله عنه states:

“For me to know that Allāh has accepted from me the weight of a mustard seed is more beloved to me than the world and what is in it, because Allāh says:

Verily, Allāh only accepts from those who have Taqwā.”

[Ikhlāṣ wa-al-niyyah]
When you temporarily rent a house, before moving into your own new home, whilst making preparations for the move.

Dunya is a temporary abode, which we are renting, before our permanent move to the hereafter. We just need to prepare to ensure the new home is comfortable.

Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam al-Kawthari حفظه الله
Ask Allah to protect you from wasted time. How many people spend years on that which brings no benefit, only to look back on lost time and realise they've not moved an inch nor have they grown spiritually, financially or mentally.

Ask Him to give you a sharp vision in life.
A certain degree of worry and anxiety exists in everyone and is completely normal.

However sometimes such feelings can take over our lives - and this is where we may need some extra help.

Here's how you can navigate anxiety while building on your relationship with Allah ﷻ.
There are many important people in your life story that you are yet to meet. There are many laughters and also tears that you are yet to experience. Enjoy the present and what it offers without excessively getting lost in it.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

"Whoever does well with that which remains (of his life), he is forgiven for that which has passed. And whoever does evil with that which remains (of his life), he is taken to account for what has passed and that which remains (of his life)."

[الألباني (ت ١٤٢٠)، السلسلة الصحيحة ٣٣٨٩]
Realising that you're in control of your perception and gratitude is huge and a lesson that should be learned immediately.

Life is short, and a negative mindset will always find something to be sad about. Change your perception and you can control your own happiness.

If you can change something and you have control over it, then change it. If you cannot, then adopt dua and change your perception of that thing. Find the silver lining. There is always a silver lining.
Everyone would love a sweet and easy life. However, this is not how life works.

Get your head out of social media. The people flaunting there success are hiding many secrets from you. Which you can not see.

It’s time for people to put their phones away and do things in the real world. Whether it be seeking the knowledge of the dīn or working on your Dunya, i.e business / work.
Dear Nafs: You become a better Muslim through self-improvement, not by lowering the standards of what it even means to be a good Muslim.
Ibn ‘Abbās [رضي الله عنه] would say:

O’ Allāh, make me content with the provision You have given me and bless me in it and appoint good for me in every thing which I do not have.

[Al-Adab al-Mufrad, #681]
Yoonus b.' Abeed said:

"There are two traits if they are set alright in a man every other thing would be set alright:

• His Ṣalāḥ.
• His tongue.

Why Fear? | Saʿd ibn ʿAtīq

Ibn ʿAbbās رضي الله عنهما said: One day, I was riding behind the Prophet ﷺ when he said:

'O boy! I will instruct you in some matters. Be watchful of Allāh (Commandments of Allāh), He will preserve you.

Safeguard His Rights, He will be ever with you. If you beg, beg of Him Alone; and if you need assistance, supplicate to Allāh Alone for help.

And remember that if all the people gather to benefit you, they will not be able to benefit you except that which Allāh had foreordained (for you).

And if all of them gather to do harm to you, they will not be able to afflict you with anything other than that which Allāh had pre-destined against you. The pens had been lifted and the ink had dried up.'

“The most superior form of remembrance of Allah (dhikr) is the recitation of Qur’an. No day of a believer should be empty from reciting the Book of Allah”

- Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani (حفظه الله)
I don't think many people understand truly the power of Dua. Allah can literally change your heart, your situation and your entire perception in the blink of an eye.

Focus on the verses in the Qur'an that speak about his ability and power. Internalise them and believe them.

Many of us have an illness and deficiency in our conviction. We're lost. We doubt ourselves and doubt what dua can do for our lives. Stop holding on while claiming you've let go. Truly let go, and have true tawakul in your affairs.
