Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

This is a reminder page for myself to look back on. If you benefit from it, Alḥamdulillāh. If not, please remember me in your du'ā's.

A man once approached Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) and asked, "Oh Imām, what are your thoughts on poetry?

Imām Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) replied, "Which poetry is this?"

The man responded by reciting the lines of the poem presented in the video above.

After the man recited the lines of poetry, Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) continuously repeated the lines and left the gathering.

Imām Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) went home, locked the door behind him and cried and cried and cried. He wept so profusely to such an extent that one of his students said that he almost died/ perished.

Subḥānallāh!

[Reciter: الشيخ عبدالرحمن الجذيري]
It's okay to give yourself permission to feel whatever you're feeling.

Remember, your feelings are valid, whether they're joyous or challenging. Honouring your emotions is a key step towards understanding yourself, fostering growth, and cultivating genuine well-being.
Abū Isḥāq al-Ilbīrī رحمه الله:

You weren’t created to build it (the world) but to cross it. So, strive for what you have been created for.

Always keep in mind the purpose of us Muslims in this world: we are here for a test from Allāh ﷻ. He will judge us based on how we live our lives. The widespread negativity has unfortunately make us unsure about doing good deeds.

Sometimes, we might even be laughed at for trying to become more connected to our faith. Once we realize the ḥadīth of the Prophet ﷺ, “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler”.
Social media has made us so eager to “show and tell” but there is beauty in privacy.

Everything isn’t meant to be on display. It’s perfectly fine to keep some things for you.

There is no greater regret!

May Allāh ﷻ save us from such regret.

آمين يا رب العالمين

[Shaykh Saʿīd Al-Kamalī]
Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Ibn Uthaymīn رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ said:

"Always keep in mind the fact that Allāh ﷻ wants you to be happy all the time, far from grief".

Striving against the soul

[Shaykh Khālid Ismāʿīl]
Love yourself enough to set boundaries

It’s never easy, but remember: you are not obligated to be with anyone who negatively impacts your well-being because you matter...and so does your mental health!
مَن حَمَل النَّاس على المحامل الطيِّبة
‎The person who treats others kindly

وأحسن الظَّنَّ بهم
and thinks well of them,

سلمت نيَّته
will find that his intention will remain true,

وانشرح صدره
he will feel at ease,

وعوفي قلبه
his heart will be sound

وحفظه الله مِن السُّوء والمكاره
and Allāh will protect him from evil and calamity.

‏[ابن القيّم الجوزيّةِ | مدارج السَّالكين (٥١١/٢)]

Build meaningful connections by presenting your true self to others. Be genuine with everyone, even if some of them may not be. A real smile, a real conversation, real warmth ~ always.

The right people will stay and take shade in your love. Some people are not meant to be part of your journey for ever, and that is ok. And some others will always be there, and perhaps in jannah they'll be there too. Forever by your side, in every life, in every chapter, in any case. Those are honestly your people.
It is human nature to cling to things - even those that we know aren't good for us. Letting go takes time and practice to get good at.

Here are a few suggestions to help you to make peace with what is, and move on with life in ways that make you happier.
