Advice from Mu’adh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه :
My dear son: When you pray, pray as if it is your last prayer, and don’t expect that you will be able to return to it again.
And know my son, that a man dies between two good deeds: A good deed that he has put forward, and a good deed that he has delayed.

Attaining closeness to Allāh ﷻ

Learn to 'enjoy' and feel good about things, without needing to broadcast it to others. Enjoy your clean house, car, food, holiday and other activities - even if you did not share it with others on social media or elsewhere. In fact, the less people know/see, the better.

Refreshing words from Ṣalāh al-Din Ayyūbī
“Don’t say, ‘My lord, I have anxieties.’ Say, instead, ‘Anxieties, I have a Lord.’”
Speak to your fears and anxieties, reminding them that Allāh is with you. Take charge with al-Jabbār (the all compelling).

الحمد لله على ما اعطانا ومنحنا
All thanks to Allah for what He gave us and granted us
والحمد لله على ما صرف عنا ومنعنا
And all thanks to Allah for what He diverted from us and withheld from us

A man once approached Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) and asked, "Oh Imām, what are your thoughts on poetry?
Imām Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) replied, "Which poetry is this?"
The man responded by reciting the lines of the poem presented in the video above.
After the man recited the lines of poetry, Imām Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) continuously repeated the lines and left the gathering.
Imām Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal (رحمه الله) went home, locked the door behind him and cried and cried and cried. He wept so profusely to such an extent that one of his students said that he almost died/ perished.
Subḥānallāh!

You weren’t created to build it (the world) but to cross it. So, strive for what you have been created for.

Always keep in mind the purpose of us Muslims in this world: we are here for a test from Allāh ﷻ. He will judge us based on how we live our lives. The widespread negativity has unfortunately make us unsure about doing good deeds.
Sometimes, we might even be laughed at for trying to become more connected to our faith. Once we realize the ḥadīth of the Prophet ﷺ, “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler”.

Social media has made us so eager to “show and tell” but there is beauty in privacy.
Everything isn’t meant to be on display. It’s perfectly fine to keep some things for you.

Striving against the soul
[Shaykh Khālid Ismāʿīl]
[Shaykh Khālid Ismāʿīl]
مَن حَمَل النَّاس على المحامل الطيِّبة
The person who treats others kindly
وأحسن الظَّنَّ بهم
and thinks well of them,
سلمت نيَّته
will find that his intention will remain true,
وانشرح صدره
he will feel at ease,
وعوفي قلبه
his heart will be sound
وحفظه الله مِن السُّوء والمكاره
and Allāh will protect him from evil and calamity.
