Key advices for the first ten days of Dhul Ḥijjah

Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله:

"The life of this world is made up of three days: Yesterday has gone with all that was done; Tomorrow, you may never reach; but Today is for you so do what you should do Today."

[Al Bayhaqi, Al-Zuhd Al-Kabir p197]

The primary objective for learning and memorising the Qur’ān should be solely to gain the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ. There should be no worldly motives such as being appointed leader or acquiring the mundane things of this world, or even to boast about it before friends & contemporaries.

If any student has been bestowed with the strength and phenomenal capacity for memorising, good pronounciation and an exceptional voice due to which he has attained an excellent rank, he should not become self-aggrandized, proud and arrogant.

Value the opportunities you receive in life, especially the days of your youth and your free time. Spend your time in memorising the Qur’ān, in seeking knowledge and in performing acts of piety.

Extra Point:

It's a must for a Ḥafiẓ to purify his/her intention behind memorizing the Qur'ān in order to achieve the promised rewards and bounties of Allāh ﷻ.

Feeling anxious is a normal human emotion, It doesn’t mean your weak or that something is wrong with you, It happens to us all. Here we see the prophet ﷺ providing us with a du'ā' where we ask Allāh ﷻ to protect us from it.

A person who is with Allāh ﷻ will never feel abandoned!

'Umar رضي الله عنه said:

“It’s better to avoid sin than to endure (the pain of) repentance.”

The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the Witr Ṣalāh of 'Īsha:

Sūrah 'Aʻlā (Sūrah No 87) in the First Rakat. In the Second rak'at he recited Sūrah Kāfirūn and in the Third rak'at he recited Sūrah Ikhlāṣ.

(Tirmidhī, Nasa'i)

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

‎"Never do you leave off anything for the sake of Allāh except that Allāh will replace it for you with that which is better than it."

Yā Ḥāmil Al Qur'ān

Even now, as broken as you may feel, you are still strong. There's something to be said for how much you hold yourself together and keep moving, even though you feel like shattering. Don't stop. This is your healing. You just have to keep going.

كبِّروا ليبلُغَ تكبيرُكم عَنانَ السماء
Magnify Allāh so that your magnification reaches the heights of the sky

كبِّروا فإن الله عظيمٌ يستحقُّ الثناء
Magnify Allāh, for indeed Allāh is great and deserves praise

Takbīrāt of Tashrīq

It is wājib for every adult Muslim to recite these takbirāt of tashrīq once after every farḍ ṣalāh from the Fajr of 9th Dhul-Ḥijjah (Friday 8th July) till the ʿAṣr of 13th Dhul-Ḥijjah (Tuesday 12th July) i.e. total of 23 ṣalāh.

• Men will recite them audibly and women softly.

• The Takbīrāt of Tashrīq should be recited immediately after concluding the farḍ prayer.

It was said to Ibn Al-Mubārak رحمه الله:

"Until when will you seek (Islamic) knowledge?"

He said: "Until death."
