Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

This is a reminder page for myself to look back on. If you benefit from it, Alḥamdulillāh. If not, please remember me in your du'ā's.

It is indeed the month of patience, and the reward for true patience is paradise.

May we all break free from the deceptions of this dunya and indulge in the sweetness of Imān with sabr and tawakkul. Āmīn

Ibraheem An-Nakha‘i رحمه الله said:

“Fasting one day in Ramaḍān is better than fasting a thousand days, and saying tasbeeh in it is better than saying a thousand tasbeehs, and one rak‘ah in it is better than a thousand rak‘ahs.”

[Lataa’if al-Ma‘aarif by Ibn Rajab p. 151]
The pleasures of this world are but temporary. Do not lose the pleasures of Jannah for their sake. O Heart! In doing so, realise that you have exchanged a rose for a blade of grass.

[Hazrat Mawlānā Hakeem Muḥammad Akhtar (رحمه الله)]
Benefit the humanity by 4 things:

1. Beautify your character.

2. Make Du'ā' for every single person of the Ummah.

3. Be humble before everyone.

4. Spread salaam.

[Shaykh Saleem Nawab حفظه الله]
If man is so pleased with the ways and means which help make things work for him, if they were to open his eyes, he would realise that his plans and measures could neither create nor make things in the real sense. The outcome of all his efforts and workings is no more then getting to learn how to make the best use of what has been created by Allāh سبحانه و تعالى.

For example, you need to build a house. You find a whole range of servers from the architect, to the builder, to the finisher, hundreds of human beings offering their career and service, all set to answer your call. You need building materials. They lay stacked in stores and shops ready to be delivered to where you want them.

Was it within your power and control to assemble all these things on your own, by the brute force of your money or measures?

The fact is that this system of life cannot be established and activated through force of law, even by the mightiest of the mighty establishments anywhere in the world. There is no doubt about the fact that the logistic support of this viably running running universal system is the work of Allāh سبحانه و تعالى alone, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all.

If human beings still hasten to claim that all this comes from their plans and workings, there is not much that can be said about their claim, for ignorance shall remain what is.

Purifying the heart happens in different ways — It happens when we are grateful in times of stress & adversity; to forgive someone who hurt you; to wake up at dawn for prayer even if you feel like sleeping; to choose peace when someone is wanting to make conflict.
You may not be able to decide what tomorrow will be like. But you can make it better.
خذ من الدنيا ما يكفيك

Take from the dunya what is enough for you

Ramaḍān is a month to detox from social media. Constantly seeing profiles & updates from ‘photoshopped’ lives leads to ungratefulness, self-loathing & even depression. This stems from the envy that social media triggers. Let us leave this vice and we will feel happier InshāAllāh.

Wisdom from Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Ibn ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله regarding Ramaḍān
To gain the fruits from the ilm you have make sure to follow these things,

1. Sincerity do it for the sake of Allāh

2. Commitment in learning

3. Applying what you're learning

If you ever think that the ilm that you have is not benefitting you, go back and check on these things.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity”.
