Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

This is a reminder page for myself to look back on. If you benefit from it, Alḥamdulillāh. If not, please remember me in your du'ā's.

There is nothing more valuable than time. Our lives are short and the beating in our chests that we think about so little, will cease one day. The tireless heart, that pumps tens of thousands of times as you lie sleep, will finally rest.

“And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.”

[Sūrah ʿAnkabūt 64]
So pain and difficulty are either (in reality) kindness and raḥmah (ie: mercy),

Or ʿadl (ie: justice) and ḥikmah (ie: wisdom),

Or iṣlāḥ (ie: rectification) and preparation for khayr (ie: goodness) which is to come.

Or they are prevention for a harm that would have been far greater.

Ibn al-Qayyim, Shifāʾ al-ʿAlīl 1/250
A man was asked: How do you maintain and preserve your five daily prayers?

He said: I realized that no one would accept meeting me five times a day in all my conditions, happy, sad, broken, weak, strong except for The Most Merciful
'Abdul-Qādir Al-Jilānī رحمه الله stated:

"O my son, the calamity hasn't come to destroy you, it has only come to test your patience and faith. The calamity is the bellow of the servant, therefore, he either comes out as gold or filth."

“Whoever wants comfort and ease in the hereafter, abandons comfort and ease in the worldly life.”

[Shaykh Khalid b. Ismā’il]
Say Alḥamdulillāh, let the heart be grateful before the tongue, recognise what you have and give from your blessings to those whom you can reach near and far.

May Allāh ﷻ make us appreciative to Him, and generous to others.
Setting personal boundaries is important in preserving emotional, mental and physical energy.

Without boundaries we can be left feeling drained, tired or taken advantage of.
