LPT: You know that unmarked bag, box, or container you think you'll remember the contents of, months or years out? You won't. Label *everything.*
This is a life Pro tip that has served me extremely well. If you decant something into an unmarked container, put a box away for storage, or collect something in a ziplock bag that you think will be marked by some indelible experience that you're absolutely sure you won't forget or lose track of: guess what? Odds are you're going to come across that thing at some point in the future and wonder when it was from, what it contains, all so you can figure out what to do with it.To avoid this future confusion: grab a marker or pen and clearly label whatever it is, on the box or container or with a little paper slipped inside. Future you will thank you.

LPT : Dealing with weaponised incompetence
Weaponised incompetence is not just something you have to deal with in the workplace. You must have probably witnessed it before, or may have even fallen victim to it.Very likely, while working on a group project in school. There are so many of these people, it's an epidemic. You might cut them slack, pick some of theirs thinking they just don't know any better.Weaponised incompetence is not "genius" or "smart work", it is exploitation of good, hard working (and maybe even naive) people and those who do this should be called out and held accountable for their actions. So how do you recognise these people? They haven't got so far in life by doing honest fair work, they've got experience conning other people, they know what people like to listen, they know the right words to say. There's usually a formulaand I'll be demonstrating with an example, let's say they want you to "help them" with an English Assignment1) They will compliment you - "I read your English Assignment dude, it was so well-written it's insane"2) Downplay their skills and knowledge - "Man I wish I was that smart"3) Proceeds to ask for "help" - "Could you help me with mine?"4) The help they ask for would be with something small, initially. But they'll try to get you to do most of their work, or even all if possible.(All this seems obvious, but I've seen so many of my peers fall for it)Now that you have recognised weaponised incompetence, how do you deal with it?There are different approaches :1) Snitch. Let your teacher/boss/supervisor or whoever is in charge know what's happening, not very diplomatic though.2) Help them, badly, very badly. They will understand that you see them for what they are and hopefully take a hint.3) Ask them questions leading to answers instead of giving direct answers, forces them to think4) Confront - let them know that you know what they are doing; call them out on it5) Make excuses - do not recommend, this won't stop them from approaching you the next time they need "help"Take this all with a grain of salt though, there might be a chance they genuinely need help.

LPT: Use Archival ink and paper when writing things people might care about later.
When you want to record a recipe, write wedding vows, send a meaningful sentiment, or leave any kind of information for the future, there are papers and inks which are less likely to fade or fail over time. These are not always very expensive, and are available at most craft stores and art supplies.

LPT: Use thank you notes as a powerful way to express your gratitude. Research shows people 1) underestimate how surprised the recipient will be about why expressers are grateful; 2) overestimate how awkward recipients will feel; and 3) underestimate how positive recipients will feel.

LPT: When starting a new hobby or project, check with your local library for resources before purchasing expensive equipment.
My local library offers so many services and classes. I am always surprised when people are unaware of these resources. They have 3d printers, vinyl printers, recording studios, kitchen tools, a seed library, and so many other things. They usually charge for the supplies but it is far cheaper than investing in a 3d printer that isn’t utilized. They offer classes and instruction for free so you can learn the equipment before you invest in soldering expensive. I understand that not all libraries offer this but it is worth a look. Our library even has an auditorium that shows movies for free. We took our daughter to movies there before she was too little for a theater. Once she could sit through a movie at the library, we knew we would be safe to take her to a real theater.

LPT: Realize that sleeping on a futon when you’re 35 isn’t the worst thing. What’s worse is sleeping on a king bed next to a wife you’re not really in love with, but for some reason you married and had a couple kids with, and you have a job that you hate.
You’ll be laying there fantasizing about sleeping on a futon. There’s no risk when you go after a dream, but a tremendous risk to playing it safe.

LPT: if you're struggling to fall asleep for more than an hour, get out of bed and do something for 15 minutes to reset your body's internal bedtime routine
I'm bad at phrasing things, but basically it's as the title says. Trying to fall asleep for more than an hour can be frustrating, which hinders falling asleep. Your internal clock didn't reach "bedtime" like it usually does after your nightly routine. If you get up, do something else for 15 minutes, and lay down again, you'll be much more likely to fall asleep. It resets the "time to fall asleep" cycle.I do this every night that I'm struggling to sleep and it has never failed me. I recommend it to everyone struggling with sleep and they say it helps when they aren't able to fall asleep.

Not everyone lives in a situation where they can return hospitality by hosting. If that’s you and you don’t want to be excluded bring the party with you. Sometimes that’s the meal, sometimes that’s the bar. If you can’t afford that stay around to clean up after (with permission of course).

Most grocery stores have a hot and prepared food section. You can often get thinks like sandwiches, pizza, wings, salads, sushi, and more.
