LPT Improved grilled cheeses, season your butter.
I like Italian seasoning, pepper, and garlic salt. You can add any number of flavors this way. Chili powder, cayan pepper etc. Be creative see what works for you. Can pair especially well with your more basic noodle soups or ramen noodles. On that note try some miso paste in your next ramen.Melt the butter in the pan and add the seasonings then just slide the bread around to coat it evenly and cook as normal. Do one or both sides depending on how much extra flavor you want.

LPT: Beware of Instacart automatically enrolling you into a $99 membership if you ever order with them.
I created an account with Instacart for the first time 3 weeks ago and made my third order with them today. A few hours later, I got an email notification from Instacart saying that they were charging me $105 for an Instacart+ membership. I had no idea what they were talking about and was quite angered.I called immediately and the Instacart rep said it was in the terms and conditions that I would be enrolled. Obviously an underhanded tactic on their part. I'm a pretty attentive person and I looked it up and saw that many other people had complained about Instacart doing the same thing.I got a refund (actually I'll be getting it in a few business days) and cancelled the subscription, but if I hadn't seen that email notification and hadn't recognized for a few days or ordered again through Instacart, they might have tried to give me a hard time about refunding me. Also, plenty of people have probably had their accounts overdrawn because of Instacart doing this surprise $100 subscription thing so beware.

My wife goes to town on these with a knife like a serial killer, but you don't need to do this. Just peel one of the corners back. I notice absolutely no difference.

LPT: help to get over a girl.
Hope y'all doing well. I am a 23M who lost my virginity to a Girl 20F and started having deep feelings for her. Basically when we hooked up none of us wanted a relationship, but after s short period I started loving her so much. She went back to her country and won't be visiting mine any time soon. We kinda talk almost daily, but she tells me that she doesn't like me as much as she used to and started going on dates with other guys. I am thinking about her all the time and can't stop thinking about her. I am at a point where I have 0 motivation to do anything anymore. Sorry for the bad English.

LPT: Normalize practical gifts
Let’s make something clear. When you ask someone what they want for a Christmas and they say something like “pay a bill” or “fill up my gas tank.” That’s because it’s something they would actually appreciate. When your response is “Well that’s no fun!” Then you buying them something isn’t even anything for them. It’s for you. There’s nothing wrong with someone wanting to do better and move forward. If you care about them you should rather gift them with something that benefits their goals. You could buy them a $50 shirt. Or you could buy them a $50 gas station gift card that gets them to and from work for 2 weeks.Normalize practical gifts.

LPT: Reduce period pain by not using tampons/sponges or cups.
It doesn't work for everyone of course, but for certain types of pain this can be massive, especially everything that is not the uterus itself hurting. The muscles of the pelvic floor are a complex system and inserting something into the vaginal canal has an effect on them. Over time it can increase cramping and (lower back) pain. Especially if your buttocks hurts during periods or you experience discomfort when using the bathroom, there is a good chance that switching might help you. The effect can even be cumulative over time. Switching to pads or panties or whatever can lead to a gradual decrease in pain over several periods.

LPT: Achieving goals requires more than just naming them in your head. Set yourself up for success by making your goals S.M.A.R.T., writing them down, and then backing that up with some simple steps to ensure you finish what you start...
In almost everything we do in life, how we start something dictates how we end. Most important, it is an early indicator of the results we achieve. If we don’t start well, it can be hard to gain traction or create momentum. This is especially important as we’re looking to kickoff our goals. Starting strong is how we set ourselves up for success. So what does starting strong look like? The concept sounds great, but what do we need to DO to start strong? Here are a few practical tips that can help us all get off to a strong start:Set clear goals. Determine what you want to achieve and create specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely (SMART) goals to help you get there. The more detail, the better, as this will help you gain clarity around what you need to do and how you need to show up. Take the time to write down what it is you want – get it out of your head and onto paper. That will help make it real.Make a plan. Once you’ve defined your goals, take some time to think about the steps you need to take to achieve them. Create a plan that outlines what you need to do each day, week, and month to stay on track. Creating plans and systems around your goals creates steps to achieving them. Until you know what work you need to do, and name it, you won't know where to start.Get organized. Take some time to declutter and organize your space. A cluttered space can be overwhelming and make it difficult to focus on your goals. The simple act of eliminating chaos in your life, starting with your space, allows us to think more clearly about where we’re going, what we’re working on, and the plan we’re following to achieve our goals.Take care of yourself. Make sure to prioritize your physical and mental health. This may include getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and eating a healthy diet. Achieving any goal requires energy, and we each only have so much of it to spend. When you’re not physically and mentally healthy, it creates barriers between you and what you’re trying to achieve. Think about the person you’re trying to become and consider how they care for themselves.Lean into support. Surround yourself with people who will support and encourage you in your efforts to achieve your goals. This can include friends, family, and mentors. When we create a circle of people around us who have already experienced some of our challenges, built what we’re trying to build, or created success in their lives, we can lean into them for support, encouragement, and guidance.Believe you can. For years, self-talk was my greatest enemy. I would catch myself getting hammered with uncertainty, doubt, and fear, and I kept watching others succeed while I felt stuck. Then I started asking myself, “Why not me.” That simple question changed the game and led me to some significant breakthroughs.Don’t quit. Working toward your goals will be challenging. Instead of being surprised when the challenges come, which will lead you to want to quit, anticipate them and prepare for them. Before you quit, make sure to ask yourself some simple questions, including why you want to quit and what you’ll lose if you do quit....The TakeawayThere are many obstacles we all face in chasing our goals. Following the tips above, you can start strong in the new year and set yourself up for success. The biggest thing to remember is this… Just start. Too often, we start too late and stop too fast. Instead, take your first steps today and begin making the most of the opportunities in front of you.Like this? Follow me here!

LPT: You know that unmarked bag, box, or container you think you'll remember the contents of, months or years out? You won't. Label *everything.*
This is a life Pro tip that has served me extremely well. If you decant something into an unmarked container, put a box away for storage, or collect something in a ziplock bag that you think will be marked by some indelible experience that you're absolutely sure you won't forget or lose track of: guess what? Odds are you're going to come across that thing at some point in the future and wonder when it was from, what it contains, all so you can figure out what to do with it.To avoid this future confusion: grab a marker or pen and clearly label whatever it is, on the box or container or with a little paper slipped inside. Future you will thank you.

LPT : Dealing with weaponised incompetence
Weaponised incompetence is not just something you have to deal with in the workplace. You must have probably witnessed it before, or may have even fallen victim to it.Very likely, while working on a group project in school. There are so many of these people, it's an epidemic. You might cut them slack, pick some of theirs thinking they just don't know any better.Weaponised incompetence is not "genius" or "smart work", it is exploitation of good, hard working (and maybe even naive) people and those who do this should be called out and held accountable for their actions. So how do you recognise these people? They haven't got so far in life by doing honest fair work, they've got experience conning other people, they know what people like to listen, they know the right words to say. There's usually a formulaand I'll be demonstrating with an example, let's say they want you to "help them" with an English Assignment1) They will compliment you - "I read your English Assignment dude, it was so well-written it's insane"2) Downplay their skills and knowledge - "Man I wish I was that smart"3) Proceeds to ask for "help" - "Could you help me with mine?"4) The help they ask for would be with something small, initially. But they'll try to get you to do most of their work, or even all if possible.(All this seems obvious, but I've seen so many of my peers fall for it)Now that you have recognised weaponised incompetence, how do you deal with it?There are different approaches :1) Snitch. Let your teacher/boss/supervisor or whoever is in charge know what's happening, not very diplomatic though.2) Help them, badly, very badly. They will understand that you see them for what they are and hopefully take a hint.3) Ask them questions leading to answers instead of giving direct answers, forces them to think4) Confront - let them know that you know what they are doing; call them out on it5) Make excuses - do not recommend, this won't stop them from approaching you the next time they need "help"Take this all with a grain of salt though, there might be a chance they genuinely need help.

LPT: Use Archival ink and paper when writing things people might care about later.
When you want to record a recipe, write wedding vows, send a meaningful sentiment, or leave any kind of information for the future, there are papers and inks which are less likely to fade or fail over time. These are not always very expensive, and are available at most craft stores and art supplies.
