So I’m looking to add tv shows to my collection, and I’m at a crossroads between 720p vs 1080p. My dilema is between whether the quality difference outweighs the size difference. I don’t have a ton of space now but upgrading isn’t an issue. Thoughts?

Need help streaming my desktop screen to my smart TV

Hi there,

I've got a smart TV, a Samsung Series 5 to be more exact and I have been using the built in web browser to stream anime from sites like kissanime, watchcartoon, ect. The problem I had is that the browser almost seems to 'freeze' up after afew episodes, I dont have this issue on a PC.

So I'm trying to find a way that I can share my desktop screen wirelessly, I've tried using chromes 'Cast' option but it told me the TV doesn't support it, Tried projecting my screen, which according to the TV manual should work, my desktop however doesn't display the TV in the projection options, however if I click on the 'Find other types of devices' I see it, I just can't do anything with it.

Anyone know of any other method I could try ?

How to download stem game for use outside trial period.

Steam is currently allowing people to play a game called "Superliminal" for a short period of time before its official release. According to steam "Play for free! Ends in 2 days". I want to download the game and back it up that way i can play it outside if the 2 day window. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Big shoutout to the teams releasing small size x265 movies

While Youtube, Netflix and others are throttling their services to avoid network problems during the lockdown, I'm seeing a huge increase in small size x265 movies being released. Not sure if it's on purpose or just because, but it's great to be able to dl some highres movies without waiting 8h because of my shitty ass connection meeting some 18Go file.

Most “hackable” console?

Like most of us here on Reddit, I’m thinking long haul of how to keep my family sane on a strict budget. I haven’t really delved into the non-PC world of gaming, so I’m wondering about previous gen consoles (PS 3, Xbox 360, Wii / Wii U) that I can mod with HDDs, load on my “copies” of games, and let the kids go nuts. I do already have a Pi with approximately one crapton of games - just thinking of further options (and I’m also thinking those gen consoles are going to be SUPER cheap from GameStop damned soon). I’ll admit I’d love a PS3 with the 4 USB ports for the PS2 emulation, but I think they’re all gone by this point - and I’m not sure if I can do with it what I’m proposing ...
