A(another) alternative to ls
https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/1grhjfs/aanother_alternative_to_ls/

<!-- SC_OFF -->I've written an alternative to the ls command in go. I wanted a way to navigate larger directories better and have a better overview of them and info of the files in them. This caused me to create https://github.com/OpusMag/lds Unlike other ls alternatives like eza or lsd, lds visually separates directories from files clearly, allows you to search for the exact thing you're looking for and view file info like git status, symlinks, permissions etc. Hope someone else finds it useful! <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/opusmag_ (https://www.reddit.com/user/opusmag_)

When is GitLab a better choice than GitHub?
https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/1grp34k/when_is_gitlab_a_better_choice_than_github/

<!-- SC_OFF -->I actually thought GitLab was something inside GitHub lol. Just learned they are 2 distinct version control platforms that use Git. I only know GitHub a little at the moment. GitLab users, what are the advantages over GitHub? <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/py-net (https://www.reddit.com/user/py-net)

Internship is available for me at a firm who protects childrens rights. (I would love that). But the ad was more geared towards UI/creating graphical material. I need tips on how (if) I could focus it more on programming. πŸ™
https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/1grutr9/internship_is_available_for_me_at_a_firm_who/

<!-- SC_OFF -->So at the risk of doxxing myself (if my classmates read this)πŸ˜† I am a frontEnd developer student. So ux/ui but also we have learnt some database/api creation in mySQL + node. So also js react etc. I have some ideas, because once when we did a random project I decided to do a website where you can buy weapons that are used in war. (eg jaas gripen from sweden). But at the end of the checkout the screen goes ref and the website plays a cacaphony of screams. You also don’t buy with money but with lives. So I am thinking probably something similar could be made for somrthing about childrens rights. A website to create awareness in some way. Any other ideas? (they already have their own website) I could create marketing material since that is UI. But I would like to combone it some with code at least. Maybe a page to graphically display numbers about child abuse as well. Or something. But ideas are appreciated. Since I could get any internship at another company. But none that would feel as meaningful. But I still need it to tie to my course a bit at least. (so some programming) β€”> they wrote they were open to ideas. So if I have some ideas for programming they will probably let me. I also have to do an end of course project/graduation project. So that would be perfect for it as well. (added link because it won’t let me post otherwise( <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/NationalNecessary120 (https://www.reddit.com/user/NationalNecessary120)

Is Heroku A Good Building Platform?
https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/1grv64n/is_heroku_a_good_building_platform/

<!-- SC_OFF -->I’m an investor in a cryptocurrency project, and the developers promise to build an exchange and casino on the project. There is a demo of the website and it works pretty well. But it crashed and reviled that they were building on Heroku. There are also promises of making the website into a a mobile app. I have 0 programming knowledgeπŸ˜… I was just wondering if some genius knows if the developers are selling a pipe dream or if it seems like a real project if this is their building platform or code, thanks <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/Brief_Issue1262 (https://www.reddit.com/user/Brief_Issue1262)
