Google's find my network is not adequate "no Left behind feature"

Why doesn't Google have a " device left behind" feature not built in to find my device.

Apple does.

Tile can do it on your Android phone.

Only problem is my tile app and tiles "broke" and I'm getting false alerts up to 10 times a day that I left my keys and or wallet behind.

So I switched to Pebblebee so I don't get false notifications all day. Turns out, there is no left device behind feature.

Which is crazy.

There's no reason or justification why it does not have a device left behind built in.

Google is so far behind Apple in many aspects. I don't want to do it but I really might switch.

Apparently they're going to add a left behind feature with the Google tag. 🤞🏻

I'm just mentioning this because I've left my keys somewhere once and my tile alerted me that I left them there.

It happened the other day, left my wallet at home Depot got notified, thought it was another false notification, eventually found my wallet.

Picked up my first small 9" tablet (lenovo legion tab gen 5) since the nexus 7. I'm really loving this thing and its definitely a solid alternative to a foldable phone with some interesting pros.

Have a pretty long history with tablets from ipads of all sizes to androids of all sizes with my latest one being a tab s8 ultra, which is a nice chonky boy for media consumption generally. Been definitely curious about smaller tablets and when the legion tab gen 5 was on sale for about $600, so I snagged it and been using it for about a month.

Honestly its been a joy? Super smooth performance, under 400g with a case so easy to hold 1 hand. For me one of the more interesting aspects is due to its size, thermals are pretty amazing for a sd gen5 chip.

wild life extreme 20min loop is 82% stability.

same test with my oneplus 15 with same chipset about 55% tested in the same room.

my oppo find n5 is similar 50ish range which is about normal for flagship phones with modern chipsets, even the latest iphone 18 pro.

the design of the device is also nice in which the cpu is on the center back, so a cooler with a magnetic case works well, and i can get stability up to like 90%. phone temps are much more comfortable when holding the tablet vs my phone for similar heavy graphics titles like wuthering waves. my oppo folds throttles to 30fps within minutes in 3d games. its real bad! smaller tablets are also nice for gaming vs larger ones because on screen buttons are easier to reach. Plenty of stretching controllers that fit too if you want physical controls.

usability wise, its a nice little tablet for reading, videos etc. Screen is a bit bigger than my oppo n5 unfolded. It's not oled, but the lcd is solid with high framerate. tablet also supports sd cards for extra storage which is nice.

speakers are way nicer though probably also due to more space. The device itself is pretty small though, have no issue fitting any jacket pocket or middle size sling I own. Obviously a fold phone will always be king in that size and ease of bringing around.

Really only complaint is outside of china, we dont really see too many flagship small tablets. Samsung only has budget stuff in that size. Allegedly a new ipad mini will be out this year tho. There are some budget ones at walmart and on amazon I guess.

I do think a slab phone and small tablet is quite a good alternative to just a fold in terms of price, performance. There is always trade offs, but this works surprisingly well for me in terms of what I use, and if you have a decent hotspot amount with your phone plan and typically carry a bag, you'd have a good time here.
