Call assist AI features, Call screening feature on My Samsung ZFold8 Ultra broke my calls entirely unbeknownst to me

At least for a few days, someone tried to call me and let me know it went straight to voicemail. She just called me through another app that uses data instead and I didn't think much of it, but yesterday, I realized, I wasn't able to make or receive calls using my regular sim number. Calling out just immediately ended the call, and calling to me went straight to an error. My data and SMS/MMS texting worked fine.

After some troubleshooting, thinking it was an sim or trade in issue initially, turning off Call Screening fixed it.

Re-enabling it seems to work fine again and I can dial out, but it seems unreliable. I enabled it some weeks ago so I'm not sure at what point it broke, I was taking regular calls for a while until this week.

I made an app that turns your Android phone into a trackpad for Windows over USB : no Wi-Fi, no pairing, no root

I kept ending up in situations where I had a laptop propped up somewhere with no room for a mouse, kitchen counter, train tray table, bed. Every existing solution I tried wanted me on the same Wi-Fi network, which is useless on locked-down networks or when there's no Wi-Fi at all.

So I built one that runs over the USB cable that's already charging my phone.

What it does:

• Drag one finger to move the cursor
• Tap to left click
• Two-finger tap to right click
• Two-finger drag to scroll
• Big Left/Right click buttons under your thumb if you don't like tap-to-click
• Adjustable pointer speed, scroll speed, natural scrolling, and haptics

How it works:

It goes over USB debugging (ADB), so the phone talks to a small companion app on Windows that moves the actual system cursor. That means it works in every app, not just ones that cooperate.

No network stack involved at all nothing to join, nothing to pair, and it works on locked-down networks or with Wi-Fi off entirely.

What you need:

• Android 8.0+
• Windows 10/11 64-bit
• A USB cable that actually carries data

A lot of cheap cables are charge-only — this is the #1 reason it won't connect.

Setup is three steps, and the middle one is the annoying part: you have to turn on USB debugging, which most people have never touched. The app walks you through it with a checklist that tells you which step is failing.

Being upfront about a few things:

• It's closed source right now. I know that's a fair thing to be wary of with a sideloaded APK. I'm not asking anyone to take it on faith if you're not comfortable, skip it or wait. I'd rather say that than pretend it isn't a reasonable objection.

• The Windows installer isn't code-signed, so SmartScreen will warn you. Certificates cost money I haven't spent on a free hobby project yet.

• USB debugging is a real permission. It's how this works, but it's also a powerful setting. Turn it back off when you're done if it makes you uneasy.

• It sends nothing anywhere. No account, no telemetry, no internet connection at any point. The only thing crossing the cable is cursor movements and clicks.

Current limitations:

Windows only, USB only, one phone at a time, vertical scrolling only. It's v1.0.0.
