Out of sheer curiosity or "for the hell of it", has anyone here actually ever used one of those Doogee/Umidigi/Oukitel type niche sketch Chinese brands?

I have an odd fascination with these more niche online-only brands (part of it is probably because *they actually offically sell in the USA* with warranty service, unlike the bigger more reliable brands like Xiaomi and Oppo).

I have been into them ever since I discovered Elephone back in the mid-2010's (Elephone is defunct and nonexistent now). I even actually used an Elephone S8, which was a clone of the original Xiaomi Mi Mix - it had razor-thin bezels on 3 sides, with the thicker chin that had the bottom-mounted selfie camera on it.

Anyone here actually use phones from these niche brands? I would be deeply amused and entertained by anyone who legit owns and daily drives some random Ulefone, Umidigi, Oukitel or Doogee device.

After the Samsung Health story about giving them access to your data for AI analysis purposes (which was partially clarified and walked back), another app just showed me a popup that I had to accept their new T&Cs if I wanted to continue using it. The app is used to control and access home devices including personal scales, i.e. hardware, physical devices I bought that require the app to use many of their features. Of course the new T&Cs list a new purpose for your personal data namely AI analysis.

How do people feel about companies selling devices and then changing the T&Cs of the required apps unfavourably to the users who have no choice but to accept unless they are willing to stop using their devices (which they bought for a specific purpose and quite often not inconsiderable amounts of money)?
