warning in Phone by Google so you can quickly end the call.

Behind the scenes, fake call detection relies on an end-to-end encrypted digital handshake between devices. When a contact calls you, their device silently sends a confirmation signal to your device to verify the call is legitimate and truly coming from their device. This initial confirmation signal will be missing when a scammer tries to impersonate your trusted contact, triggering your device to ping your contact's actual device to double-check. If your contact’s actual device says, "I'm not making a call right now," you'll receive the aforementioned warning on your screen advising you to hang up.

To protect users from the growing [threat of impersonation scams](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2025/04/ftc-highlights-actions-protect-consumers-impersonation-scams), fake call detection will be enabled by default, but you can disable it at any time in the [Phone by Google app settings](https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/3459196?hl=en). We’re rolling out fake call detection globally in Phone by Google to Android 12+ devices this month starting with Pixel devices. You can learn more about this feature in our latest [Google Security blog post](https://blog.google/security/android-fake-call-detection).

The [Personal Safety app](https://www.android.com/intl/en_us/new-features-on-android/featured/june-2026/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=owned&utm_campaign=y26q2AndroidDrop#personal-safety-app-for-kids) consolidates key safety features in one convenient location, and soon, we’re enabling access to its most helpful features for kids under 13. Kids under 13 will soon be able to display their medical information and emergency contacts on their device’s lock screen. They’ll also be able to enable car crash detection on compatible devices, which automatically alerts emergency services and texts emergency contacts after an accident. Finally, teens will be able to use Personal Safety app location features like Safety Check and real-time sharing with emergency contacts.

# 4. Get notified when your loved one arrives home safely with Find Hub

[Find Hub](https://www.android.com/intl/en_us/new-features-on-android/featured/june-2026/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=owned&utm_campaign=y26q2AndroidDrop#find-hub-location-sharing-notifications) can now notify you when a friend or loved one reaches home, leaves work, or arrives at a location you’ve chosen. You can also set ongoing alerts to avoid having to do manual check-ins. This feature is available globally (except in China and North Korea) and across all languages.

https://preview.redd.it/t2o370rhqw4h1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=7f34c59f5692913dabfc7b3f689893fae79e95e6

Location sharing requires explicit user consent and can be turned off at any time. The person you set an alert for will receive a push notification (if enabled on Find Hub or Google Maps) and email.

# 5. Scan multiple pages with ease using Google Drive or Files

The document scanner within Google Drive, Files, and Pixel Camera lets you effortlessly digitize your physical notebooks, stacks of receipts, or other documents using your phone’s camera. It automatically strips away shadows and enhances images to create clear digital versions of your documents. Now, we’ve enhanced the document scanner to support [multi-page
scanning](https://www.android.com/intl/en_us/new-features-on-android/featured/june-2026/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=owned&utm_campaign=y26q2AndroidDrop#multi-page-scanning). This update allows you to point your camera at multiple pages in the same frame and capture each page as separate documents.

And with deduplication support, if you point your camera at a page you’ve already scanned, the scanner will detect it as already scanned. Furthermore, the scanner will try to capture the best frame whenever possible; for example, if you keep pointing your camera to the same page, the scanner will automatically swap the lower-quality frame with a higher-quality one when detected.

This new document scanning experience runs lightning fast and completely on-device. It’s the default document scanning experience in Google Drive, Files, and Pixel Camera for Android devices with 8GB or more RAM. Try it out!

# 6. Speech translation in Google Meet, now available on Android & in more languages

[Speech translation in Google Meet](https://www.android.com/intl/en_us/new-features-on-android/featured/june-2026/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=owned&utm_campaign=y26q2AndroidDrop#google-meet-speech-translation) allows participants to speak in their native language while others hear the translation in theirs. Compared to captions, which only display text, speech translation preserves the conversational flow by dubbing over the original speech while mimicking the speaker’s tone and cadence.

https://preview.redd.it/sseilsqhqw4h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ad43acb90be6363a1953fa1068a7f7b9219819f

We initially launched speech translation in Google Meet on the web and have now brought this feature to the Android app. Speech translation currently works with English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Italian, German, French, and Hindi, though only a single language pair can be active per meeting at any time. Furthermore, the feature requires that at least one participant in the call holds an active AI Pro or Ultra subscription.

You can enable it while in a call by tapping the menu icon and then selecting Tools > Speech translation.

Why Is Samsung the Only OEM With a Siri Shortcuts Equivalent?

Still wild to me that more Android OEMs don’t have a proper Siri Shortcuts equivalent. Samsung is basically the only one taking automation seriously. Modes and routines is one of the main reasons why I cant leave Samsung no matter how much I want to jump ship.
