I made an app that turns WhatsApp/RCS photos into a live home screen widget. Your contacts don't need to install anything.

Hey everyone! Developer of Energy Ring App here, excited to announce my latest App, Viewget!

I wanted a way to see photos from my friends and family right on my home screen. Every time I unlock my phone, a little glimpse of what everyone's up to. Photos from the group chat, snaps from family, moments from friends throughout the day.

So I built Viewget (a play on View + Widget).

What it does:

Viewget is a home screen widget that shows live photos from your favorite people as they send them via WhatsApp or Google Messages. Every time you unlock your phone, you see photos from the people who matter most.

No new app for them. No sign-ups. No accounts. They just keep texting like they always do, and their photos appear on your home screen automatically.

How it works:

1. Add the Viewget widget to your home screen
2. Pick which contacts or groups you want to see photos from
3. That's it. Photos show up as they arrive.

Tap a photo to jump straight into that chat.

Three widget types:

The free version gives you a unified widget showing photos from up to 10 contacts in one place. Perfect for keeping up with multiple friends at once.

Pro unlocks individual widgets (a dedicated spot for one person) and group widgets (perfect for family chats or friend groups that share lots of photos).

Why I built it this way:

Most photo sharing widgets require everyone to install the same app and create accounts. Good luck getting your whole friend group or family to do that. Viewget works with WhatsApp and Google Messages, apps that everyone already uses daily. Your people don't need to change anything.

Privacy:

The app uses notification access to detect incoming photos. Nothing gets uploaded anywhere. Photos stay on your device. No servers, no cloud storage, nothing leaves your phone.

Looking for feedback:

Just published it and would love to hear what you think. Also, this App is part of my IJP App Bundle collection!

This is the first beta version of the App, hopefully it goes great on all devices! What features would make this more useful? Any issues on your device?

Get it from Google Play Store!

Happy to answer any questions.
