How to get a stellar battery life out of the 6.1inch S22

Tl, Dr; I was initially getting approx 5.5 hours SoT with S22, but with a few small settings changes, was able to get >9 hours (extrapolated, its sitting at 7 hours 20 minutes now) of normal usage (with location, sync, etc. turned on) https://imgur.com/a/MwsjDA4

A couple of days ago I wrote a post on https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/xmjppn/been\_using\_an\_s22\_ama\_if\_youre\_on\_the\_fence\_about/

Google Messages now supports sending reactions to sms texts from iPhones.

I noticed today that Google Messages now lets me send reactions to iPhone texts, and it sends the iPhone user a text similar to the old x person liked "text". So now android can interpret iPhone reactions, but not the other way around.

I'm glad Google is finally playing hardball with Apple, and hopefully this leads to RCS adoption. Google is finally using the same tactics that Apple has been using for years....

Any of you wish that Sony could make a big comeback into the Smartphone Market? I miss the Xperia days and the first Android phone which I envied was a Sony Xperia X10 Mini and Of course the Galaxy S2 (My first Android Phone)

Sony Xperia Phones are getting released but is failing to make any major splashes in terms of sale.

Wish Sony could enter the Foldable market too. I would love to see the once glorious Smartphone brand get revived.

Right now my favorite Android phone is Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite. Love it and I even edit 4k Videos on it from my GoPro.

Sony also has Alpha series cameras and so many people use their sensors. They can use that knowledge to improve their cameras

Google camera software is as good or better than iPhone 14 pro photos…

Don’t really feel like posting this in the Apple subreddits for obvious reasons (I’d get a lot of hate probably)

But Ive recently upgraded to the iPhone 14 pro after previously owning the pixel 3a and galaxy s10e (on which I downloaded the Google camera software)

Anecdotally, the iPhone pictures don’t look any better, which is pretty disappointing. Or at least not to my casual eye

And the battery life is fine, not groundbreaking.

I think the iphone generally just runs better than android ...

Very few Google apps actually support Themed Icons on Android 13

In Android 12, Google introduced Themed Icons for Pixel, a feature that lets the Pixel Launcher apply Material You dynamic theming to app icons on your home screen. This feature was limited to a handful of Google apps, however, because there wasn't a proper API in place yet. Instead, the Pixel Launcher had a hardcoded list of themeable icons. I wrote more about how Themed Icons worked in Android 12 here if you're interested.

Z Flip 4 hinge changes and a warning to future potential buyers

I've not yet seen much discussion about this issue on this sub but it is becoming common on the r/galaxyzflip subreddit. This is a warning to future potential buyers that I believe the new hinge design is fundamentally flawed and makes the new phone unusably fragile.

I'd also like to preface this by saying I owned the Z Flip 3 for a year before trading to the new Flip 4. The Flip 3 took a lot of abuse working in a metal fab shop with countless falls and drops as well as metal shavings building ...
