Is that really still relevant to compare iOS and Android updates just based on version numbers?

Hello,

*Disclaimer: If you plan to downvote because I list differences between the way 2 OS provide updates to users, you can do it, but think again .... I will* ***never*** *say that one or the other is better, I simply show that there are so many differences that we should think twice before comparing them.*

I have been having this thought for a long time, and I would like to express it with my best English (sorry for any typo/grammar), and would like to hear from your opinion. I a...

OnePlus has turned OxygenOS into an advertising machine. Why is no one calling them out?

There was a recent thread calling out Samsung for pushing ads via notification - https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/hdaf59/samsung_pushing_ads_in_notifications_even_though/

But nobody seems to be calling out OnePlus for turning their OS into a advertisement machine. Everytime I enter settings I have a huge unremovable card with a red dot blaring at me.

I don't give a shit about their red cable nonsense and I didn't pay for a phone to be infested with ads in its settings app.

WWDC Made Me Appreciate Android More

Watching the iOS portion and seeing all these features that have been out for Android for a very long time, I realized that while it looks like Apple is being "revolutionary" with these new features, Android has had widgets, better Assistant UI, PiP, and the app drawer for far longer. But it also makes me see that while Apple is bringing radical changes mostly to software, Android has been seeing more refinements instead. Other than my Pixel 4's Assistant, every little incremental feature hasn't...

Oppo Ace2 Review: Initial Impressions

**Setup**

The unboxing experience was very basic, like any other Chinese smartphone so I will skip this part, but it does come with a pre-applied screen protector and a surprisingly nice clear case. I thought it would be a cheap clear case that looked nasty on the phone.

First thing I did was update the phone's firmware, then do a full factory reset. I set it up fresh, uninstalled what chinese bloat I could (there was a lot), installed playstore with the first apk I found, then using that I in...

For years Widgets have been slowly forgotten in the Android world. Even OEMs and Pixels don't put widgets on their promotional photos! With the coming of iOS 14, should we expect the reemergence of Android Widgets in the coming years?

I just hate how the smartphone industry works. Widgets, perhaps Android's one of most iconic features, have been slowly forgotten over the years and here comes Apple getting that feature, polishing it a lot better than Google. This is so sad and frustrating.

I'm a fan of Widgets, still use them a lot today on my Samsung. Android widgets are good, but they can be improved so much more. I feel like Android Widgets have gone really stale over the years....
