/r/android reviews: Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco line
Device reviews are everywhere these days. From big name technology websites to lesser known blogs, and to the rising stars on YouTube. You can find hours upon hours of review content on most any well-known device out there. However a lot of these places do not focus on long term usage and fail to mention how devices hold up over the long term.
Additionally for those of you who like to hear about devices from actual users, it's hard to find a good place with reviews that aren't scattered all ove...

Just thought of a nifty idea that will enable effective one handed use even with huge phone screens or tablets... Do you think this will be possible in the future for Android phones?
(just for fun)
So... What if there's a sensor behind the screen that can detect the position and movement of your right/left thumb while using your phone or tablet in one hand?
If you are trying to reach the upper portion of the screen using your thumb - stretching it and wiggling it a little bit, the screen will detect your movement and will automatically move the UI down to exactly where your thumb can reach.
You can also do this in landscape mode, if you are using your right thumb and you...

Android feature idea: use the warmer flash light if flashlight and blue light filter are turned on and if hardware permits it
My hopes aren't high for this one because it would only be useful for a few phones. I'm putting it out here anyway just in case dual-tone flashes become popular in the future....

"Battery health". Is that something that really matters, and if so is Android ever gonna get it?
Hello!
I feel like I have a fairly decent understanding of how batteries work and how they can be degraded over time, but I've seen a couple of iPhone-using friends claim that their phones are basically unusable once they hit 80-89% "battery health" (even if they disable throttling).
To me, this seems like nonsense. You should be able to use your phone reasonably well even past the 50% or 40% mark. Sure, it won't hold its charge as long, but it should still run just fine, right?

This wallpaper will crash your Android phone: don’t try it.
In what can be described as a truly mysterious phenomenon, an image of a picturesque lake, when set as wallpaper on select Samsung and Google Pixel devices, causes the phone screen and the device to go nuts.
Sony Xperia 1 II Heat Supression mode
The Sony Xperia 1 II has a unique feature hidden in its game mode which allows the the phone to suppress heat while charging.
How this feature works: When the phone is plugged in the battery does not get charged and the charger provides direct power to the phone , much like some laptops where you can takeout the battery and use it just by plugging in the cable.
Why this feature is great: This feature is primarily focused toward gaming because it generates a lot heat because of heavy cpu usag...

Nokia 9.3 Pureview vs Pixel 5
So I recently remembered that Nokia exists and they released the 9 Pureview last year. The camera had problems due to the complex system Nokia was trying to use but now this year it seems Nokia's going to go with a more standard data intake for its 5-camera setup. The camera app was also laggy.
This year, the 9.3 Pureview is expected to have the 865 and X55 5G modem, 6 and 8gb of LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, and an under-the-display selfie camera. Now, of course, the selfie camera will need to...
