Today we remember 19 year old Gavin Hopley who was murdered after going on a night out in Oldham.
Gavin got lost & ended up in the no-go zone of Glodwick. He was chased, beaten & robbed by a gang of Pakistani men.
Gavin died (15/02/2002) a week later from his injuries.
The police & CPS failed Gavin. No one was ever charged or found guilty for this brutal, violent racist murder.
5 Pakistani men were charged with violent disorder & received sentences ranging from 9-15 months and another man was charged at a later date and cleared.
NO hate crime charges for Gavinโs killers, NO peerage for Gavinโs mother, NO Gavin Hopley Day, NO incessant referencing by the MSM & politicians, NO TV dramas or documentaries about Gavinโs murder.
Some โracist murdersโ are swept under the carpet, while others are used as a tool to beat you with at any given opportunity. Gavin was just a white teenager after all - bottom of the heap.
