What I have had to endure as a professional working in this area, over the last 2 years, will haunt me forever. There are no words to describe what it's like when a client is in front of you utterly broken and bereft that their wife or husband died alone.
All my clients that lost loved ones in the last 2 years did not have the chance to say a proper goodbye. To hold their loved ones hand and stroke their face. Some had to watch over zoom, others through a window. Some lost their children like this. It was utterly heartless and people cannot get over it. They have been destroyed.
My own family lost 2 relatives who died alone, neither covid related. It has been traumatic to say the least.
Worse still, hospitals in the UK will still NOT let relatives visit. This inhumane policy must be rectified immediately.
