If you have a plea hearing coming up in the next week, we would recommend that you plead NOT GUILTY until you get more info from us. This is because:
1️⃣ The recent High Court ruling overturned the Section 14 blanket ban from the second week of the October Rebellion, making those arrests unlawful. The ruling does not affect the lawfulness of arrests for other offences (eg. obstruction of the highway, criminal damage etc).
2️⃣ The plea hearings at Westminster Magistrates Court for people charged with Section 14 at any time in the October Rebellion have also been adjourned. You should still plan for your hearing to go ahead, but it indicates that the CPS is reviewing all the Section 14 charges.
3️⃣ Extinction Rebellion lawyers have sent a 'Letter Before Action' to the Metropolitan Police challenging the Section 14 order from the first week of the October Rebellion as well. We’re waiting for their response.
It’s possible to change your plea from 'not guilty' to 'guilty' after the plea hearing by emailing the Court, and you won’t necessarily have to attend Court again.
💷💷There will be no increased costs as long as the plea is changed within a few weeks of the plea hearing.

🕙 Meet 10am at Hyde Park Corner
🕜 Arrive 1.30pm north of Heathrow terminals 2 and 3
Join us for a 'Political Mass' Bike Ride from central London to just outside Heathrow Airport.
There, we will perform a 'lie-in' in front of a stationary bulldozer to celebrate Boris Johnson's promise to his constituents:
🌬️ "John McDonnell, I will join you. I will lie down in front of those bulldozers and stop the construction of that third runway." 🌬️
Our 'Bulldozer lie-in' is held in solidarity with the local community. They, and we, want politicians of all parties to commit, or recommit, to blocking Heathrow expansion, so that we never have to lie down in front of the bulldozers for real.
⚠️ However, it is also a warning that, if they fail us, we will be back!
There will be pick-up points to join the bike ride farther along its route.
