๐Ÿ• Sunday 16th - A Space for Justice ๐Ÿ•
For the first day of Rebel for Justice, weโ€™ll be focusing on taking and building a site that will be a sociable, regenerative base for the weekโ€™s actions. If you have any ideas for music, talks or other activities to help us prepare for the week ahead of us, get in touch!

๐ŸŒŽ Monday 17th - Whose Earth? ๐ŸŒŽ
Mondayโ€™s actions and activities will be focused on land exploitation and its impacts. In Cambridge, too many of our green spaces are kept behind walls, accessible only to those who hold positions of power and privilege. Meanwhile, the cityโ€™s power hubs profit from land exploitation and ecocide. Join us to ask these institutions to treat the planet as what it is: not a source of profit, but a shared home for all living things.

โ˜ ๏ธ Tuesday 18th - Fossil Fools โ˜ ๏ธ
On the 18th, our actions will focus on highlighting our regionโ€™s toxic ties with fossil fuels. Not only is our transport system dependent on fossil-fuel intensive personal vehicles, we also play host to research centres for climate criminal corporations like BP, Shell and Schlumberger. We will call for an end to this harmful relationship.

๐ŸšŒ Wednesday 19th - The Road to Climate Catastrophe ๐ŸšŒ
In Cambridgeshire, poorly planned, expensive public transport leaves many stranded or dependent on personal vehicles. Meanwhile, in urban areas high levels of air pollution lead to reduced quality of life and health issues. This cannot go on. The structure of transport in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough must change - we need a just transition away from our car-dependent infrastructure.

โœŠ Thursday 20th - Another World is Possible โœŠ
On the International day of Social Justice, we will be focusing on inequality and how we can join together to collectively challenge the injustices we face. Whether this is through innovative political processes like the Citizensโ€™ Assembly, or through direct action, we will ask people to come together to fight for a fairer world.

โœ‰๏ธ Friday 21st - Dear Worldโ€ฆ Yours, Cambridge โœ‰๏ธ
For a small city, Cambridge has a towering international reputation. The University of Cambridge and the โ€˜Silicon Fenโ€™ attract students, workers and researchers from around the world. The historic architecture draws thousands of tourists each year to the city. With this stature comes global responsibility. The institutions of Cambridge have failed to live up to this, and weโ€™ll be devoting this day to looking at our cityโ€™s relationship with the rest of the world.

โฐ Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd - Time is Running Out โฐ
As we draw to the end of our week of rebellion, we will come together to reflect on the urgency of the situation, look toward future XR actions, and remind the institutions of Cambridge that we must act urgently.
BREAKING! Extinction Rebellion (XR) Cambridge have blockaded the University of Cambridgeโ€™s BP Institute.

With just over one week to go until Rebel for Justice, weโ€™re upping the pressure ๐Ÿ˜

This is the latest of a series of actions in the youth-led Rebel for Justice campaign. One of the campaignโ€™s demands is that the University of Cambridge cut all ties with the fossil fuel industry. The group argues that the University is complicit in the โ€˜greenwashingโ€™ of the fossil fuel industry, allowing companies to present themselves in a positive light through connections with the prestigious academic institution.

The start of Rebel for Justice will unfortunately coincide with the end of Storm Dennis. We expect there to be significant rain for the start of Sunday, but it will clear up hopefully by midday, and then for the rest of the week! We are recommending Rebels bring waterproofs for that first morning. There will also be gazebos on each block set up shortly after site take, and dryers at local homes for any wet/damp clothes!

We canโ€™t wait to see you all on the streets in Cambridge soon! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™

There will be talks & trainings on-site all throughout the week. Check out the trainings below with links to the Facebook events for specific times. There will also be an on-site whiteboard listing all the talks & trainings for the day ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

*Ambulances at Rebel for Justice*

The police say the Ambulance Service has agreed to reroute ambulances around the roadblock.

However we've had 2 ambulances with blue lights expecting to pass through the block. An ambulance driver filmed us as they passed through.

A team representing different working groups agreed that *we will allow access to ambulances with blue lights* which drive up to a blockade.

We will also make signs saying the police got agreement to reroute from the Ambulance Service in case they film us again.

Our Police Liaison Team will also speak to the police and ask them to clarify our agreement with the Ambulance Service.

We should *not* allow access to *any* vehicles without blue lights.
*Talks on today at the main stage*
2pm Borders and justice
3pm Animal rebellion
4pm intersectional activism
6pm What does solidarity mean
