Strategy, the company that owns a huge amount of Bitcoin, sold 32 Bitcoin between May 26 and May 31 at an average price of $77,135 per BTC.
The company said it sold these Bitcoins to raise money for payments to its preferred stock investors.
Although 32 BTC sounds like a lot, it is actually very small compared to Strategy's total holdings of more than 843,700 BTC. The company still owns almost all of its Bitcoin.
The news became important because Strategy's chairman, Michael Saylor, has been known for strongly supporting Bitcoin and rarely selling it. This was the company's first reported Bitcoin sale in several years.
After the announcement, Bitcoin's price fell below $72,000 as some investors reacted to the news and market uncertainty.
